I am confused about the requirements for the $150 rebate Tivo is offering. Their web specials page has the following note:
Note: You will be required to activate monthly service ($12.95/month for the first box and $6.95/month for additional boxes) by January 31, 2006

This, along with the fact that they have been incessantly sending me, a current tivo subscriber, emails about how I can get their boxes for $50 after rebate leads me to believe that they would give me the rebate if I bought a second box and signed up for the multi-user discount.

However, there is no real mention of this in the rebate requirements. All they list is:
Requires service activation ($12.95 per month). 1-year service commitment required.

I called the rebate center and the guy I talked to had no idea what a multi-service discount was.

Anyone here have any straight answers on this?

Thanks!

Any box, whether you are buying your first unit or your 10th, is eligible for the $150 rebate.

The wording is just confusing... all they are saying is that to qualify, you need to activate that Tivo and keep the service active for a year.

Back in October, I bought my wife a 40 hour unit (we had a 60hr) to put in her workout room. The multi-service price is $19.95 (give/take) combined for both units. I am currently waiting for the final processing of the $150 for that second unit.

Sorry that you had some confusion. Can you point me to the source of the problematic language so we can fix it?

The terms and conditions at http://www.tivo.com/rebate/ seem clear to me that any type of service activation (monthly, Product Lifetime, or monthly with discount) qualify you for the rebate as long as your service remains active for more than 30 days.

Best regards,
Stephen
