Just got an email from TiVo. If someone wants a $0 down $20/mo for service offer it is available for the rest of today:

Other stuff: This is a factory renewed deal and requires 2 year commitment.

Thanks,

I got this deal a year ago and it was a great way to get my first TIVO. With that being said, now TIVO's cost $99 when I bought mine, TIVO cost $299.

Just isn't as good of a deal as it used to be, plus this TIVO is used. For me to get a TIVO and lifetime I would have had to pay $499 lifetime and $299 for the TIVO. So plunking down $800 for something I never used before was tough. At today's prices or some of the deals that have been offered I'd have a hard time pulling the trigger on this deal again. I am still happy with my choice but times/price structure has changed over the last year---of course once you have MSD I don't know how you could think it was a good deal, but that is my opinion.

Thanks for posting the info though---good to know all the deal out there.

Actually I agree with you and at this point all 4 of my TiVos have lifetime. I just posted it because last year when TiVo had this offer on new Premieres some people seemed interested.

Additional Info: based on what Teggy posted in the other thread I started about this offer, these $0 down TiVos do not qualify for MSD, but may allow another TiVo on your account to receive a reduced MSD price.

Thanks,
Looks like today is $19.99 down and $19.99 per month. FYI

... and tomorrow it's going to be $39.99 down and $19.99/mo.

I don't get this marketing technique; isn't it just going to upset people that they missed the previous day's better deal and/or cause them to wait for the good deal to come again?

I don't get it either.

My original email listed the 3 day pricing increase so maybe they were using it to highlight that the price was going back up. I posted the $0 down deal as soon as I could yesterday and assumed if someone didn't want that they wouldn't be interested after the price went up either so I didn't bother mentioning the 2nd and 3rd days.

Thanks,
Heh... I was about to mark this SPAM until I realized it's totally on-topic... :)
I so much want to get service on a premier which has been collecting dust for over a yr now, With the solid update on my 1 premiere, things look brighter on the horizon.

$399 is just to much for me & monthly isn't my style, so I have no ammo to get a discount. $299 would make me really look into finding the cash, @$199 I would be on the phone in a heart beat.
