    help!

i have a sony series 1 that i've had for (gulp!) almost 7 years. The modem has long since died and i've been using TivoNet happily for a while. The problem is that I've just moved and need to change the zip code so that it finds my channels correctly. What can I do? as far as i can tell, i'll be screwed if i start guided setup. can i go through a bash prompt or something? it seems crazy to try to get the modem repaired just for this.

all i need to happen is have it realize that the cable lineup has changed.

how can i make this happen???

    thanks for any help!

I inherited a Sony S1 that also had a dead modem. I put in a TurboNet and was able to get through guided setup just fine.

I considered using an external modem, but didn't want an extra box just so the unit could make its calls.

As long as you're using ,#401 as the dialing prefix, you should be fine.

You will have no problem whatsoever running Guided Setup.
