Anyone watching this new half-hour series on IFC? I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. It's about what Monty Python might have done if they had done a series about Sherlock Holmes.

    Year of the Rabbit

Detective Inspector Rabbit, a dedicated, tough, thick and oft inebriated Victorian copper, sleuths his way across London with his two young partners, a doofy rookie, and a brilliant black policewoman no one ever believes.

Trailer (which doesn't do it justice):

I have it recorded, but unwatched.

    Matt Berry is very funny.

I'd tried the first episode but it was making me nauseous. It seems to be filmed at a high frame rate and it messes with my head. There was some other British show recently that gave me the same problem. I hope this isn't a trend.

I had been watching Toast of London and saw the trailers for this show so I set up a season pass for it. I love the recurring role of Joseph Merrick as part of the cast. I've become a huge Matt Berry fan ever since I saw What We Do In The Shadows.

Sadly though, in typical British TV fashion there's only six episodes for season 1 and so far that's all that's aired on the BBC.

I just found this show last night. I love Matt Berry, thanks to shows like IT Crowd and What we do in the Shadows.

I'm up to the third episode, and it's great. Love that John Merrick is just a character in the show.

I've read a second season was approved. COVID-19 will probably delay it being made.

He has another (was on IFC, not sure about now) — “Toast of London”
But its not as good as “Year of the Rabbit”, and nothing he’s done is as good as what he does on WWDITS.

    Edit: Bat!

I actually like Toast of London more than Year of the Rabbit.

    Both fun shows though.

He's always good, his portrayal in The IT Crowd hasn't necessarily aged well, but he did a good job doing exactly what he intended.

Watched the first couple episodes of Toast of London. That show is crazy. Laughed out loud multiple times. Black woman having plastic surgery and now looks like Bruce Forsyth, except her one hand is still black. Who the hell thought of that?

I've never heard of Toast of London or Year of the Rabbit. I'll have to check them out.
