I've a friend that's asked Xfinity with no definitive answers.

We're going to be installing a Premiere for OTA - he just got Xfinity Internet installed in his lake front property today. He was given a FLEX BOX.

He's FiOS TV/Internet at his home in NOVA. Can he use the FLEX BOX he was given with the FiOS TV APP to watch his subscribed TV in his Xfinity connected lake front property? His install today was a bad experience for him but the Internet works so he's somewhat happy. Is he going to need to use a Roku device or something other than the FLEX BOX?

Using his FLEX BOX can he use it like I'm guessing you would use a Roku - separate 'log-in' using his FiOS credentials for each channel?

It seems ridiculous that Comcast would have a FIOS TV app in their Flex boxes. He would likely need some other streaming device that has the FIOS app to connect to his tv to watch, I don’t know what devices that app is available on. A google search should tell you.

The FLEX box is not a generic Apple/Amazon/Google/Roku box, so it can only install apps that Comcast has ported/developed/provides. AFAIK the FiOS TV app is not one of them, so he would need to use another system to run the FiOS TV app.

And while I don't know about the FiOS TV app, quite a few of the TV vendor apps will only provide the full TV subscription services when you are on their network.

I would recommend he contact FiOS to ask about what options are available to him.

It seems a FiOS TV APP is tablet, phones etc so maybe it's a try it! They've used a Verizon 'hot box' previously and a Roku I believe so I guess a person just tries a network and see if they're provided a link to providers. I'd think a Roku might do them well!

Where is this mystery "FiOS app" coming from?
I have a Flex box up at the cottage and I don't think I've seen a FiOS app in in it, as said above, it's not a normal streamer, it's hooked into the Xfinity ecosystem and you don't just "add apps" to it.

    I only asked

It appears to me that the only thing they can actually likely use is probably 'PRIME' which I believe they're a subscriber.

Has CBS-AA been added yet to the FLEX? I understood likely has ..... and was rumored to be added to X1 but I've not seen it.
