They did one of these each season, starting I believe in the second. Some of them were among the very best X-Files episodes ever.

This one was nowhere near in that league, IMO.

I vaguely remember the old eps but I liked this one a lot once I realized it was supposed to be humorous. Darby always makes me laugh but I thought he was just Murray but maybe a bit more philosophical.

I finally got a chance to see this and immensely enjoyed it. Lots of great lines, and it was fun watching them all relax and have fun with the episode. I laughed when Scully tried to break Mulder out of his funk by temping him with the fact that their new case has a monster in it, and I got lots of giggles the rest of the show.

Just watched it, loved it :)

Why do you feel the need to crap all over this thread repeatedly?

    Finally watched this ep.
Add me to the list of folks who enjoyed it. I don't watch this new season comparing to the original series. I have kept my expectations lower and enjoyed them.
Whether this episode was as good as the older humorous episodes or not doesn't matter to me as long as I laughed. And I did. Well done.

Almost as good as the "Baa, Ram, Ewe" episode.

I have a terrible memory. I watched the X-Files back in the day, but I can't remember if I stuck with it until the end. (Scully & Mulder had a kid?!)

Anyway, even without catching the shout outs, I really enjoyed this ep. The concept of a Lizard (That's racist!) bitten by a human. Being compelled to get a job, worry about retirement, etc. Mulder's realization that a Werewolf transformation is just as silly. And "Yeah, this is how I like my Mulder" ... "bat crap crazy!"

I almost didn't watch this season, but now I've watched 3 in about 24 hours. In general, I'm enjoying Mulder's middle-age perspective on his previous paranormal beliefs.

    Over there
I'd say this is a top five episode of all time for the xfiles. The other 5 this season were pretty forgettable, but Darin Morgan just can't miss.
