Won't buy it until they change the case. Dumbest design ever IMO.

Just the color, the shape or both?

I *am* a little surprised that Weaknees hasn't come up with a case mod for the BOLT line that would give it a more conventional shape as well as large enough form factor to enable easy upgrades to 3.5" hard drives. (God forbid a lockable slide-out drive tray.)

This is a job for a 3D printer. Thingiverse for the win! (but not yet)

I was basically going to do that with one of my old S2 or S3 boxes, but I did not want to rip apart one of my active Bolts for the build until I had the details worked out (and I am too cheap to buy a used Bolt for the project). I asked for a donation of a broken Bolt, but no one took me up on it.

I would love to see a case mod from them but i think tivo would step in a put a stop to it quickly, they don't seem to mind the hard drive upgrades and what not but completely redesigning there boxes and selling them might be a step to far lol. I dont mind the color but the shape is just terrible IMHO so i would be all for it

Make it retro, put it in an old VCR case. Flashing 12:00, HD on tape tray, or use the numbers in place of the recording, power, remote push, streaming lights. Extra points if the clock actually works.

I'd have fun with that mod. Good luck...

I think it would have to be a DYI mod. Case comes with a place for the board, wireless cards (and RF remote), and hard drive. Do it at your own risk.

Man it would be nice to have a real case for the BOLT. I can't believe TiVo didn't make a better case option.
