The only thing I found amusing was the beginning and that was because of the TiVo reference. The end story was sort of amusing because it reminded me of the end of the movie "Wild Things". The rest of that half hour was a sad sad thing.

I love the Treehouse of Horrors and there have been some great ones. I am going to go rewatch some of them and try to forget this one existed. :(

I've lost interest in TOH since they started showing it after Halloween due to Fox covering the World Series.

I'll echo what I said in the other FOX Halloween thread and basically just agree with all of what you said, betts4.

And I would have missed the TiVo segment if I weren't watching it live since my TiVo seems to miss the first thirty seconds of FOX programming. (Someone's got a clock a bit off somewhere.)

"The Simpsons," at least, has pretty consistently started at 7:59:30 for over a decade.

I have to agree with Betts because after watching this, my exact response was "Worst Treehouse of Horror ever."

Other than finding the Monster Office opening somewhat amusing, this had nothing else to recommend.

I actually liked all the game references in the first segment. I especially thought the comment about "Mouse Trap" was funny considering we just had a thread about it here this week and most said they had never played the game, only put together the contraption.

How many of you have seen the movie Dead Calm that the second segment was parodying?

And I imagine for those who are fans of Twilight, the third segment might be somewhat entertaining.

I laughed a lot at this episode. I thought it was funny. I also watched the credits, and wondered why they were giving credit to House & some other Fox show for stills…

The Tivo segment at the beginning was 'accurate' and the stills were from commercials that actually appeared during the show (ok, at least House did.. that's the only one I confirmed).

It was gorier than I remember from the past.

It certainly wasn't the best "Treehouse of Horror" episode ever but I enjoyed it. "TOH" is the only saving grace of the last couple of Simpson's seasons.

TOH have always been terrible. I don't know why so many people seem to like them.

That was the only thing I found interesting about the first segment.
I've seen Dead Calm. Still didn't think much of the second segment.

I was waiting for them to skewer Twilight with the ultra rational Lisa but instead she was simply the girl (Bella?).
    Very disappointing.

That was what was dissapointing. I can't say I am a "fan" of Twilight but I have read all the books and seen the first movie. It just wasn't done right. It seemed off. I could see Lisa being Belle for a little bit, but her logical side would come through. I would have liked the Dad vampire after drinking some of Homer's blood to then go to Moe's and order a beer or say "D'oh" or something. Nope, it just didn't ring true.

The credits were funny. I forgot about them, but I always go slow thru so I can read the credit names.

I don't think there's a ToH that I found funny but this one was really bad.

The one with "The Shinning" (Treehouse of Horror V?) is complete and utter comedy GOLD.

I thought this year's was okay.

The one with the time traveling toaster (Butterfly Effect) was great. "Oh look, it's raining again."

I think the best TOH was in 1996. Kodos and Kang as Clinton and Dole. So many great lines. Comedy unobtanium!

Then you had one where Homer fall through the wormhole and become 3-D.
