OK, what the hell was up with that?

Did they get new writers? Someone on drugs? How did the producers let that air? Forgetting the whole concept of all of sudden making everyone act out of character (Jack and Danny playing rock/paper/scissors?), the writing was just terrible!

And on a more down-to-earth note, once they verified the Chinese laundry guy's story, why didn't they shut down the investigation? She clearly left her apartment of her own free will. Why should they care why she did?

And right after that, they accused that other guy of kidnapping her!

    Terrible, terrible.

Gotta agree with you!!!! I have just started getting into this show (pre-Tivo it didn't work into my schedule :D ), but friends have raved so I've been trying to catch it. I was thinking after this show that I shouldn't bother.

This show was in no way typical. Give it another shot, hopefully next week will return to normal.

Perhaps the regular writers took the week off and let their grammar-school children write the episode instead...

I enjoyed this episode. Sometimes that need a lighthearted episode.

    Was who Eric's brother?

There's a list of guest stars on The Futon Critic---none of them has a last name of "Close" and I certainly don't remember thinking that any of them looked like him...

I thought the guy that was chasing after his father being dead had eyes very similar to the without a trace guy.

Finally got around to watching this episode. You folks are right -- the writers obviously took too many happy pills when they came up with this one.

Nice to see Christina Hendricks (Firefly and Kevin Hill), though. And Jonathan Banks, even if he was the most unbelievably tolerant capo ever.

Yes, a very strange episode. Even a bit corny.

Oh well, every series has at least one "Trouble with Tribbles" episode.

    I know Trouble with Tribbles.

This, my friend, was NO Trouble with Tribbles!

    Pookie Bear?

    "Are you drunk?"
"I have a right to be drunk in my living room."

The constant mis-pronunciation of the laundry guy's name?

The "Charlie's Angels" ordering the coffees in the olive oil store?
An olive oil store? (Does such a thing exist?)

The cops bowling with the mob guys?

    The singing of That's Amore?

What the heck was up with this episode?

It was definitely a whacked out episode. And I agree with the OP that said the investigation should have been over the second they discovered the woman walked away once she got out of her apartment. I mean the opening scene had Sam angry at Viv for taking her away from her lunch for a woman that was only missing for 5 hours.

And can anyone explain how Martin's drug use isn't even mentioned?

I really think this was a "straggler" episode that they decided to run with the "gimmick" episode of CSI (with the camera crews following them).

What a way to leave it now that it's off for a while for the NCAA tourney.
