    dumb question...
will the TiVo Wireless g USB Network Adapter work on the DirecTV recorders> I saw this in this week's Best Buy ad and thought it could be hooked up and added to my wireless network.

The ads in our area explicitly said no. I don't think there's drivers for it in the Zipper, but I could be wrong.

I've had luck with a Motorola access point set in bridging mode connected to a Netgear FA105. My other DirecTiVo is hooked to a Slim Devices Squeezebox which also behaves as a bridge. Both are doing 802.11g. I get about 1 megabyte a second between recorders and downloading to the PC.

The answer is no. There are no hobbyist drivers for this adapter and there's no support for it in the 6.x software stream.
