There was a major Comcast TV outage this morning affecting all but local channels. Their phone support was swamped. It was impossible to get through. I found out about it at https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30588641-Outage

    It's fixed now though.

that's probably what did it for me, since I was in one of the affected areas.. I had checked the comcast site and app first to see if there was a service problem as well as the outage sites (that scrapes social media) but nothing was showing at the time

Hi Sarah - I have provided my TSN through the Tivo My Support - and supposedly this info was routed your way. Is there a way to get the latest software version pushed?

    Posko,
    Thank you for the feedback.
My TiVo Support usually adds comments to a already created case on your account. Can you PM me the case number or TSN so I can double check that I have it?
    Thank You.

Got SkipMode yesterday...now if I could just see all the channels to be able to use it. Three full months of this issue now and still no fix.

Anyone else that got RC21 have their firmware set back to RC15? I noticed my box had rebooted and then when I checked the firmware version, I was back on RC15. Still having pixelation and channel tuning issues on at least a hand full of channels. I am getting to the point now where I might get rid of both my TiVos. This issue has gone on for too long with nothing coming from TiVo.

You probably had 20.5.6.RC21 and were upgraded to 20.5.9.RC15 which was just released recently.

Yes you correct, thanks. So they have released another version and still no fix for the channel tuning issues. Looks like an issue that may never get fixed.

This is continuing to be ridiculous...will be four months of this garbage next week. I still can't believe they can't get their crap together and fix this or at the very least update us. I am getting really tired of this silence and lack of updates on what we should be expecting.

I too got the latest update and now all of my channels are once again pixelated and some of the higher, premium channels are not coming in at all.

I seriously don't know how I could ever buy another TiVo after this fiasco. They are not acting like this is a priority or that they care at all.

Luckily for me the problem for me is limited to 10 or so channels but at least half of them are channels I watch regularly. I end up having to watch the SD version of the channel. I used to be a big advocate for TiVo but no longer. This whole episode has me rethinking my AV setup.

I too am with you. Four months is totaly ridiculous. If I could somehow get my money back for my lifetime subscription I would just get the cable company dvr and forget about TIVOdiculous!! Mycable company has tried everything imaginable have been totaly cooperative.

Just wanted to come back and report that I think that everything is back to normal now. Not sure what fixed it (would have been nice for any TiVo support person to stop in and ask how we're doing now or even better, call me back on one of my 5 or so open tickets to see if it was fixed), but things have been pretty good all week now.

I am still extremely displeased with how TiVo handled this situation...overall, it was a disaster and will really make me consider what I do on my next purchase. If I were paying monthly and didn't have a lifetime service, I would definitely be gone already after this.

Did you get some kind of update on your TiVo (different version than the rest of us are running) to fix this?

I don't think so, but I did have to unplug (I did it for 1/2 hour, but that should be overkill) and then let it boot again. Since doing that it's been good all week.

I have 20.5.9.RC15 and when it first went on, it did not do anything. I was still missing channels and getting pixelation on all my channels. It wasn't until I did the unplug to get a hard reboot that it started working again. So, if you're still having issues, give that a try.

No I've never had any issues with our Roamio. If you didn't get a TiVo update to fix it, I'd more likely suspect something changed on the cable side (CableCard firmware update?).

I just did a hard reboot, no improvement, in fact it's worse. I still have pixelation or the channels will not tune at all. At least on the previous version, all the channels would tune but they would have varying levels of pixelation. My Premier that have upstairs is all good, no issues at all. I am just about ready to give up on TiVo.

I too haven't had ANY improvement, still having pixelation issues with the same channels that became problems with the winter update. If they can't get it fixed maybe we should all try to get all TIVO stock owners to dump their stock and maybe they would have to reorganize the company and get engineers who actually know what they are doing! I still believe its a logic data entry error with the update which has caused a problem with the AGC circuit in the TIVO.

Agreed, I still have problems despite the latest 20.6.1 RC4 update.
Some days, it works perfectly , all the problem channels.

Then hours later, the (same) problems channels are broken again.
All are RS correction issues, for HD it is signal lock /picture loss as well (1000s of RS uncorrected.)
SD channels are 1000s of corrected mostly, and as result picture is there but lots of tearing/pixelation.

very tired of months no progress.. I cannot migrate off my HD S3 until I can confidently record all channels I watch. Thank goodness for backup Tivo, and for Comcast VOD to catch shows I missed...

I have no idea if this will help anyone else but after a reboot (I think) my box has its signal strength % drop by 20 points pretty regularly. Trial and error yielded something that works on my box. I know my cable signal is at +2 at the back of the Tivo thanks to a patient Comcast tech.

    0. Before you do this, go to Settings/Account and System Info/Tivo Box Diagnostics and note the Signal Strength %.

    1. Power Roamio down (pull the power cord out)
    2. Disconnect cable/coax
    3. Power back up. Do not reconnect the coax!!

    4. WAIT! Let Roamio get all the way up

At this point I bring up Settings/Account and System Info/Tivo Box Diagnostics so I can watch the Signal Strength %.

    5. Reconnect the coax. I try to do this smoothly / one push in and tighten.

This has always yielded a huge improvement for me - I've had 73% before and 92% after.

    Your mileage may vary!

This really should not work if the box were working properly. I'd posit that this genuinely indicts the AGC software but that's just my guess.
