I have a PC running Windows Vista and Tivo Desktop Server version 2.6.

Everything was fine until I installed a recent Windows update. I can see my music files on my TV, but they won't play at all or they play very poorly.

I ran a Windows System Restore to go back to a point prior to the Windows Update, and the Tivo server started working again.

I took a chance and reinstalled the Windows Update - bad news, the Tivo server won't work now.

My Tivo seems to have no network issues - I subscribe to Rhapsody music service, and it's working fine.

Anyone know of a compatibility issue between a Windows Vista Update and a workaround? I would hate to forgo either the updates or the Tivo.

I appreciate your suggestion. It had occurred to me that an upgrade might be the solution. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't. Version 2.8.1 operates no better with Vista than the 2.6 version I had running.

    Any other ideas?
