I was wondering if after replacing the original hard drive in a Tivo Roamio with a new hard drive would it be possible to still place the previous hard drive back into the Roamio and say view previous recordings that were on the original hard drive? I wasn't sure if the Tivo would reformat the original hard drive again.

It will not reformat it but you may have lost CableCARD pairing, I know since I've done it..

When I was writing MFSR, the CableCARD pairing was maintained as long as I was extremely careful to remove the card at the same time as the drive it was paired to, and to have it in place when I put that drive back in. Anything else would break the pairing because TiVo assigns a unique ID to every drive that it formats.

It will only format when it detects an unrecognized format or partition, or a new uninitialized drive.
