I came downstairs and was baffled to see my children watching Big Bang Theory......on Nick.

Then I realized they were watching iCarly and it inexplicably had Jim Parsons in the episode. So, I thought, "Okay, fine, so Jim Parsons was on iCarly a few years back...." but I checked the date and the episode's air date was less than a month ago (August 13, 2011).

I check his IMDB page and indeed, he's down as playing the character "Caleb" in ONE episode of iCarly this year. The guy's won Emmys and Golden Globes....why on earth is he playing a bit part in a cheesy tween sitcom??

Some would say that Big Bang Theory is a cheesy adults-who-live-in-their-Mom's-basement sitcom.

His agent isn't as good as Johnny Galecki's? Or, depending on how you look at it, better?

Are you making an Entourage dig? Cause I approve of that.

    Sure, I'll take that.

Also, **** Johnny Galecki. The character, of course.

PS: In case it wasn't obvious, I said fornicate. In less letters.

According to EW, Jack Black and Jane Lynch also make guest appearances in the series, so it must be the "in" thing to do.

You would be surprised what following iCarly has I bet he has nieces or nephews that demanded he take the roll... that being said some people just take every gig that comes there way with a pay check.

Awwww, I like iCarly! Of all the shows my 14-year-old has watched over the years, this is the one I most enjoy watching with her.

It does not seem that uncommon to take a small part in an "in" show (or just a show your kids/neices like) that might otherwise be "beneath" you -- a few years ago, Larry David, Ray Romano, and Rob Reiner all did separate guest turns on Hannah Montana.

Doctor Who has had some surprisingly big-name guest-stars who say they did it for their kids/grand-kids/etc.

Werner Klemperer once said that the only reason he had a role on The Simpsons was because his grandchildren pretty much begged him to do it.

(This sort of thing goes back at least as far as ABC's Batman series.)

iCarly is definitely a cut above the norm. Utter crap like "Wizards of Waverly Place" and "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody" (I think I got those right) are the scum at the bottom of the cable TV latrine.

iCarly is actually funny, at least sometimes.

Jack Black was in School of Rock with Miranda Cosgrove.

Plus his spot on Yo Gabba Gabba was awesome.
