I just wanted to say that I started to watch this show and it is one of the FUNNIEST things I have seen on TV in a LONG LONG time. I am sad that it is off the air.

    Who else liked this show?

I loved the show. I started watching it about 10 years ago when Comedy Central had the British version of it. I can't remember ever laughing so hard at comedy on tv. I watched the ABC version and although it was good, I didn't find it as funny. It seemed stale at that point since I had seen the British version first. I would recommend it to anyone.

still one of my favorites no matter how many times I see them. My TiVo always has a few episodes ready for when I need a laugh.

I watch it all the time---I have a season pass set on low priority, so I record episodes when nothing else is on. I definitely prefer the American version to the British, though...

I agree with all of you. I've seen nearly every episode so many times, but I laugh hard every time I see it.

I love both versions. Just way too funny.

Very good show--Scott is right, though, the British version is much funnier than the US (Drew Carey) version. The British version was much tighter, with more skits, a lot less redundance across episodes, and a wider variety in the cast.

Not to mention that Clive Anderson was much funnier than Drew.

I liked them when I first started watching, but since they use the same basic bunch of guys, there wasn't ever anything new. I understand they are talented people, but felt like they would use the same bits over and over. It stopped being funny to me.

Scott isn't right or wrong. You really mean to say that you agree with him. It's a matter of opinion as to which version is better/funnier, not a matter of fact.

One thing is clearly true -- Drew Carey is an idiot, and Clive was MUCH better with the show. We continue to watch it IN SPITE OF Carey.

No, once again that's an opinion.

One thing to add about this show - and I hope it doesn't ruin it for anyone - is that it's not REALLY improv. They cheated. They filmed as much as 1 1/2 hours for every 1/2 hour broadcast. What you see on TV is actually the "greatest hits" of a performance that's as much as 3 times longer.

ooooh-kkkkaayyy...I thought we were discussing a TV show, not the end of the world or anything.

But don't ever, ever try to put words into my mouth. Maybe I meant to say that I "agree with him". Maybe I didn't. But you have no right to say what I "really meant to say".

    LOL!

It's not a question of a "right", it's just logic.

If someone states an opinion and another person says "He's right!" what else could he possibly mean besides "I agree with his opinion"?!?

Editing improv down doesn't turn it into something other than improv.

I went to a taping in 2000, and it was more like 3 or 3-1/2 hours, from which they eventually made three half-hour episodes. Trust me, you should be glad you didn't get to see the bits that were left on the cutting room floor from that taping session -- well, most of them, anyway. (There were a couple that probably would have made the cut for HBO or Showtime, but were way too off-color for ABC.)

I did notice that some of them were a bit risqué. Lots of bleeping and the like.

I love both the British and the American equally, but differently.
