I might have asked the question. My Bolt doesn't do this but gives a general opinion such as "Generally unfavorable reviews". My Roamio listings give a movie from one to four stars, though some movies don't have stars. I guess that means not enough is known.

I ask this because "The Sound of Music" gets four stars on the Roamio. I won't be watching because I've seen it several times. My local paper's TV listings are delivered on Wednesday. Don't ask me why. And "The Sound of Music" gets three stars. Seriously?

    That's what I needed. Thanks.

But no one answered where the stars came from.

LOL. HR continually provides an eclectic (that’s charm school for “weird”) array of topics here. But that’s fine. The forum would not be the same without him. :D

Why am I doing your searching for you HR? This took about 30 secs of Googling to find:

Are Star Ratings for Movies a Thing of the Past?

Looks like the real answer is: Forget about star ratings on TiVo. Use IMDB or Rotten Tomatos

Though those hydrogen atoms originated out of the Big Bang. There was just a significant lag between Bang to star formation. :D

Google doesn't know what I want. Asking a human is the only way to get answers. And sometimes not even then.

For example, I once asked on a web site what hotel was shown in Detroit in a commercial. One answer was something like "Google it". That wouldn't have worked. I found my answer when someone found a video of the commercial.

I just figured someone here might know the answer to where Roamio gets its stars. TV Guide used to have a detailed explanation. It went something like "quality of cast and director, consensus of leading critics, and popularity".
