I was wondering if there's a favorite place to get the Tivo box from. Could you list where you bought your box from and if you'd buy from that place again if you could do it over?

Circuit City. Bought both of my DT boxes there. Only bought there because they only had one store that had the DT units in stock. No one else had them.
Other than being quite far from the house, I had no problems.

First one, the S2, I bought at Best Buy.

2nd one, the R10, came with my inital DirecTV install.

3rd one, the HR10, I got online at Sixth Avenue Electronics, 6ave.com.

4th one, the S3, I also got online, from the TCF Store.

Can't say anything bad about any of the purchases.
Except maybe the S3, but that complaint is with DHL not the TCF Store.
Leaving a $700 delivery that required a signature on my front porch in the middle of the day .
I was home at the time, never heard the doorbell or door knock.
Heard a vehicle driving away and checked the front porch.

I bought my TiVoHD from Costco. Although Amazon had it for $30 less (which Costco has since matched with an instant rebate), I like the fact that it comes with a very generous return policy, which I feel is more than worth the extra money I paid for it.

Amazon is also a good place to buy electronics, and if their price goes down within 30 days of your purchase, they will gladly refund the excess, as what recently happened with my Toshiba HD-DVD player.

Bought my S2 and S3 at the same time from Amazon in early November 2007.

Prices were good, delivery when promised.

    No complaints.

The Series 1s I had I got from private online sellers.

My first Series 2 I got from an online liquidator.

I have a small collection of Series 2s from various private sellers, some for parts, including a Product Lifetime 140.

My first TiVo was a Tosiba SD-H400 which I got as a X-Mas gift.

My Second Tivo was a Humax DRT800 which I got for free from Tivo Rewards.

My newest is a S3 that I bought from CompUSA during their current store closings.

I completly agree about the DHL thing. I try to avoid them at all costs after they left a $500 Dell computer monitor in my driveway hugging my garage door. They never even bothered to ring the door bell. I wonder what they would have done if I had backed my car out of my garage and hit it because there would have been no way to see it.

wow, reading all this I feel like my deal sucked!

TiVo phone support sold one to me for $99. But they also threw in a refurbished wireless adapter for free. (New = $50?)

I've bought and sold many over the years. Currently I have Humax w/ dvd burner bought off eBay. I put lifetime on it.

2nd one is a 80 hour S2 that I upgraded to 250 or more, I forget. Got that at Circuit City when they had them cheap about a year ago. Got lifetime on that by buying a really cheap S1 w/lifetime off eBay and transfering the lifetime over during one of those times when they allowed that for $199 or whatever it was.

Too many to remember... but I bought the last one from Fry's. They price matched Costco and had a good price for the 4 year warranty.
