So I think the updates are release by zipcode so I'm going to try and do RGS with a zipcode that someone that already has 14.8.

So if someone has 14.8 what is your zipcode and cable provider?

It has been reported many times that the phased rollouts are not based on zip code.

I have four TPs and only one has gotten 14.8u, if this is anything like the past in two to three weeks the rest of the TPs will be upgraded.

I'm in 22191 and this is the first time that all my boxes received the firmware during an initial rollout.
Usually only one to three of my five boxes get the firmware with the initial rollout.

Zip code does not matter! There's really no need to keep posting them.

TiVo has informed me that 14.8 is a prerequisite for Hulu Plus. So I assume the flood gates have been or will be opened completely. I'd do a connect and see if you get the software update.

They have lists of service numbers. I don't have any inside info on how they build the lists, but basically they roll out to some amount as a subset and monitor the results. When it is deemed ready a final version without the letter will roll out to all boxes.

Search a bit and you will find many threads on the topic.

I just bought a Premiere for the sole purpose of having Hulu Plus - especially with 6 months free.

Of course - 14.7 firmware and no Hulu Plus.

I did an online chat and told them I was going to return the box and cancel my service if they didnt push 14.8 to my dvr asap.

They said they couldnt do it, not possible, blah blah blah. I told them I wanted a supervisor to call me, as its false advertising to me - they said it's available now - not whenever i get some software update.

Had a vm from the supervisor about 20 min later - she pushed the 14.8 firmware.

Forced a connection - sure enough - 14.8. Still no Hulu Plus - im doing my second forced connect - she said it could take 4 tries, so after the 4th one - Ill call back if no Hulu Plus.

Feeling a bit entitled much? Also I doubt she individually pushed 14.8 to your specific TiVo, the time you posted coincided with them opening up the update to everyone.

I'm annoyed with TiVo as much as the next forum member, but some people take it a bit too far.

you don't know what entitled means so would you please stop using the term? entitlement is not when you are PROMISED hulu plus and its not there. entitlement is when you are not promised hulu plus, and except it anyway.

a company promising a feature, and not having it is totally justification for returning the product, anyone who doesn't think so is a sucker.

Hulu plus just popped up on mine, a few hours after getting the update. about to test it out, hopefully it performs smoothly.

Surely you mean accept right? :p

I'm only saying they announced it yesterday, then followed the announcement with a Tweet stating that Hulu+ is in deployment and should hit boxes in the next few days.

If after the next few days, you did not recieve the software, then by all means call and complain. They clarified things as well as they could be expected to, they did not promise Hulu+ by a specific date. It was always "coming soon", which is hard to qualify with a specific date.
