What's the current TE3 software version for Roamios?

    My Roamio is showing:

Is that the latest release for TE3?

All I could find on the official site was this article, which as of my posting, mentions 20.7.4.RC42 (not 4b, and 42 seems higher than RC3?)

And is TE3 effectively abandoned at this point, or are they continuing to backport "fixes" from TE4 that are relevant?
Would I need to run TE4 if I want to make sure I'm getting any new fixes (e.g. for anything weird related to SDV / tuning adapters or whatnot)?

All Tivos will download the current software when its available, so far what you would have is the latest.

    Mine is on 20.7.4b.RC3

There used to be release notes for each Experience:
    Tivo Customer Support Community
    Tivo Customer Support Community

But those are no longer maintained. You can see what seems to be current data on the new page:
    Tivo Customer Support Community

That is updated almost weekly, but not much changes. Keep your expectations low and you won't be too disappointed.

My sense and experience is that TE3 is doing pretty well enough, and any new FW downloads will just break things. If there are major problems that present serious issues for a great many subscribers, TiVo usually send a fix, but like the S4's, things are just fine they way they are--those TiVo DVR's do their primary job just fine--and the end of countless FW updates has provided STABILITY we can only dream of with later models suffering problems because of a FW download breaking something.

I have two Tivos in two different houses (about 3 miles apart) having problems with Tuning Adapters and Spectrum/Charter. I was thinking maybe they hadn't pulled in the current update or something (I know it's supposed to be automatic, but I thought maybe something choked, grasping at straws).

More likely Spectrum just broke something on their back-end, but trying to speak to anyone over there who even has a clue what a Tuning Adapter is and how it works is like trying to bail a rowboat with a thimble...

Generally speaking, except for the weird Edge kernel business, TA problems are almost always on the TA's end (or the operator's headend).
For better Cablecard luck, call 1-866-532-2598 and request the "special initiatives desk for cablecard" - worked for me every time back in TWC-land.
