Does anyone know for sure and certain that the software for SD-DVR40/80 (service number 351) can be used on a SD-DVR120? I can't find any post on the topic or a link to the info.

If not then what is the service number for that model?

Also, what is the service number for HDVR2?

Some of these models confuse me and I am trying to help a friend.

    Thank you

I believe the service number just indicates the manufacturer of the unit.

Also, the DVR120 just has a larger HDD than the 40/80.
The software version for these SD units should all be the same. However, since I don't have my SD units active I can't tell you what it is.

I moved a drive from one unit to another, and all I had to do to get the drive to work in the "new" box was a clear & delete everything... this was software 6.4a

Ok so the SD-DVR40/80 is the exact same software as the SD-DVR120. Didn't know that.

What is the largest size hard drive the unit can actually record to and make use of for a SD-DVR120?

And for a HDVR2 what is the original drive size and maximum drive size it can make use of?

    Thank you

I am guessing the it can't use the entire 500GB on the SD-DVR120?

I read somewhere a while ago about only being able to use 320GB I think but not sure.

I am still searching for postings about the max useable SINGLE drive size on HDVR2 and SD-DVR120.

    Thanks

It can use the entire 500GB with 6.4a, I am using two 500GB PATA drives on my system with no problems. :)

I think you meant "SATA to PATA (IDE) adapter". :D
