What do you do to your TiVo when you're done watching?

    Unless there was a difference in an earlier model than I had, a ReplayTV was never not busy with a task because like Tivo, it was always recording live TV to the buffer.

    As I recall the live buffer was only recorded when a signal was present. I also seem to recall that there was an option through the so-called Claw Foot Portal to allow disk spindown.

    I gave my old ReplayTV to a friend and it still gets program guide data each night via local phone number. That unit has its original 30GB hard drive and is still working great for a 7-year old DVR.
