Yes, but MIB's hand indicates that it's the same timeline that he killed Emily (who was a host?) and Teddy killed himself.

Unless that was one really long elevator ride :)

    Houston/Bren...
It's set in the far future. So far that everyone in the "Now Westworld" is long dead. Both MiB and Emily were hosts* by then.

I don't think we know if Emily was host or real in the "now", but I tend toward real. MiB was definitely real.

*Host. We need a better word for real people who have been replaced by a synthetic, or man-made, body, but their "soul" is recreated from their real life. As versus creatures totally created from scratch, never existed in real life, such as Teddy or Maeve. Teddy was a Host. But what was Bernard, who was once real?

Then I'm lost. How is MIB's hand bloody (from Delores putting a slug in his gun) in both the "now" and far future?

….ok, I think I've got it. What we're seeing in the far future just a repeat of a loop, a simulation (the test) of what has happened in the past.

….since MIB finally (after many, many times) has made it to the Forge, does that mean that he may pass the "test"? (the fidelity test)

….Is Host Emily, Emily? If so, then she would have passed the fidelity test.

…Deloes, with a million different paths, always ended up at his last conversation with Logan (before his OD). Did MIB always end up at the death of his daughter?

….btw, if not for this thread (thanks Rob), I may have missed this scene after the credits. Not thrilled that this was done, this is not a Marvel movie :)

So, any speculation of who is in Hales body (after Delores is back in her own body at the end)? — Maeve didn't make it to the valley beyond, so my guess is that Maeve is in Hales body.
Hale/Delores left with at least 5 "pearls", so which hosts will return in S3 (Teddy made it to "the valley beyond', so he's out). At the end of the ep, Hale/Delores focuses on a few 'dead' hosts, so I think we have our clues there.

Obviously they beamed the hosts into Missy's Time Lord computer system.

Nah, there's a printer. Dolores will just print Maeve a new body. Unless Thandie Newton has quit! ;)

Jonathan Nolan had a solution in his previous show Person of Interest.

His AI the Machine was under attack, he removed it from a server center and relocated it to the U.S. Electrical Grid. In one sense the AI became God, was everywhere and nowhere :) Whether the solution worked is another matter.

Followers of Person of Interest could find it easier to spot some of the things in Westworld. Nolan used a mesh network in Person of Interest and I reckon it was better explained in-show than ever it was in Westworld.

There is no new thing under the sun.

When people were killed in the Doctor Who library their consciousness was saved, uploaded to a server. One of those saved was Miss Evangelista played by Talulah Riley who played Angela in Westworld.

During the upload there were glitches in the code, Miss Evangelista ended up looking like this:

No Doctor has said "Run" better than Maeve said it in Westworld.

(what Doctor Who did has been done before)

I don't know who is in Hale's body but one of the pearls was Bernard so we only don't know 4 of them (unless there were more).

There could be more. While 5 were in view, we were not shown the full contents of Hale/Delores' bag.

The recent turn of events kinda makes me wish they'd named Dolores "Dorothy"... :D

"In a recent interview with HuffPo, Ed Harris, who plays the Man in Black, revealed that Season 3 wouldn't start shooting until June of 2019—which means we're looking at 2020 premiere at the earliest."

I think Maeve’s pearl (reloaded from backup files) is in Hale’s body. And I’m sure that by the time this happens, everyone has a desktop 3D printer to accommodate such a procedure.

In any case, Delores, Bernie and Maeve (?) are at large on the mainland with different agendas.

Probably much of S3 will be who gets custody of Earth. Us or them? I suspect Bernard will try to fight for the humans.

Wasn't Maeve one of the bodies on the beach?

Yep. So unless they had access to a backup copy from the Cradle, I don't think they can bring her back.

Yes, but that means little when you have access to all of the backup files and a Mesh network.

    ;)

The Cradle was destroyed, I thought. That doesn't mean there isn't a backup of her, I guess. Ford did tell her she was his favorite, right?

Yeah, with all the timeline jumps, I’m not exactly sure what happened when. But, if they want Maeve back next season, I’m sure they’ll come up with a brief explanation of how it would work.

Or, they may have been making a statement by letting her “die.” It did look like a permanent goodbye to her daughter.

    You never know.

Her pearl is probably intact. Felix and Sylvester will surely bring her back.
