It's happening again. A forced connection didn't fix it. So any recordings tonight, if your clock is affected, will start and end two minutes early.

I've had a fast (or is that slow?) clock for a bunch of days now, maybe a week--wish TiVo would ping the Atomic Clock.

    hmmm

Mine SEEMS ok. Just checked a few recordings from tonight and they seem to have started right on time. What can I compare my TiVo clock to ?

I have an Atomic clock in my living room, and usually the TiVo clock is dead on. I didn't notice it was off this evening until Supergirl cut off well before the end (fortunately, i was close enough that the end was still in the buffer).

I miss having the TiVo clock on the front panel! As it is, I never really notice it unless I specifically look for it, which I almost never have reason to do.

It may be that your last connection was before the server clock went off, or perhaps you're hitting a different server..?

I'm kind of glad I dropped TiVo. After the six weeks with no guide for S2 satellite users which killed two machines I would really have not had patience for this.

Twice in the last few days I noticed that the time was incorrect at www.time.gov.

Probably not related, but I thought I would mention it.

Most of the time it is accurate.

    My Supergirl ended perfectly.

It makes no sense to me when these things happen. Everyone should be the same.

The clock is set when the TiVo makes a connection, so if the TiVo server time is wrong, then the TiVo boxes will be as well.

That said, my recordings all ended at the correct time. My box last made a connection at 2:40 am so if the time was set wrong, it happened after that.

Looking at my recordings more closely, (all times Central) the 5:30 shows were fine; 7:00 started and ended 2 minutes late; 8:00 started late and ended on time; and 9:00 and after were fine. So it looks like whatever happened to throw it off happened between 6 and 7, and whatever fixed it happened between 8 and 9.

Rob, you're not staying in room 1408 are you? Clocks do weird things in there.

Probably brief newsbreak, on at least one channel, for a report on bombing at grande concert in London. NY got newsbreak without missing any Supergirl. They either cut commercials, not likely, or promotional plugs.

Interesting. I'll have to check the time on our boxes. We have all of my recordings set to start one minute early and end one minute late by default. We recorded the season finale of "Elementary" this past Sunday on one of our Roamios. When we watched the recording last night the show started later than expected, and the recording stopped just before the show itself was over. I don't recall any breaking news or sports events from Sunday that would have caused this behavior.

That was golf. It ended three minutes late.

Actually, an hour and three minutes, but they just didn't run local and national news.

Noticed that as well. I gave up trying to keep up with CBS on Sunday. I pad 60 Minutes and Elementary by an hour and use Skip Mode to find the start.

I got lucky last night. Recorded a few shows between 8 and 10 Eastern and they started on time.

That explains it. I don't normally associate golf with CBS. Of course, I got caught flat-footed earlier this year when football and basketball games ran long. I guess I should just plan on padding all Sunday evening recordings by 1-2 hours to cover all possible sports events.

You could always use the Select-Play-Select-9-Select trick to put the clock on the screen. I love that feature.

Better Call Saul and Angie Tribeca got chopped off so I have to re-record them, but the clock has since appeared to be corrected.

I had no issues with the clock from any of my TiVos this week. All recordings were spot on as usual.
