    Hello,

About four months ago, I got an Roamio OTA TiVo Series 5 and a Mini. Both have been working fine.(So glad to get rid of DirecTv!)

Last week, I noticed that the Roamio was on the Waking Up screen. The only thing I was able to do was unplug it. I did and everything was fine for about a week. Last night, while using the Mini, suddenly the signal disappeared. I went to the Roamio and it was again at the Waking Up screen. Then this morning it happened again. So I think it is getting worse.

I saw somewhere that this could be a hard drive failure. Is that a possibility? I didn't purchase any special warranty but it has only been about four months. Any idea what the issue could be and what the best way to get it resolved is?

    Thank you for the help.

Are you using standby or one of its power saving options?

Yes, I have it set to Low for standby. I think that means it won't record any suggestions after 4 hours of non-use.

You can temporarily disable the power options and that should resolve this problem. Power savings isn't critical as Tivo already use very little power.

I believe suggestions will not record when the power option is set to High.
You can also disable suggestions and they will not record again.

Incorrect. The 'Low' power option will still record suggestions.

From page 62 in the latest Viewer's Guide:
And page 64 includes details on Standby mode:

Thank you both for the information. I will shut off the Power Savings.

Is the fact that it has frozen on the Waking Up screen an indication of something worse going on? I haven't set the Power Savings off yet, and I haven't had the issue occur in the past few days. It appears to be random and I know those are the hardest to track down.
