    Cable Card + Tivo = Getting CineMax but Not HBO or Showtime

    Had a tech come out yesterday, no deal
    Had a tech out today for 3 hours - no deal
    replaced tuning adapter
    replaced cable card
    line looks great, tested with another box all happy
    he talked to 4 different people on phone to send signals and try things never got it to work

    Here is my forum on dslreport
    [BHN] Cable Card + Tivo + Getting CineMax but Not HBO - Charter Spectrum | DSLReports Forums

    They suggested not having the coax go through the TA for the Tivo, so after tech left (he didn't want to hear it) I added a splitter, and an additional coax and plugged them in seperately.
    No change

    If I go to
    Settings->CableCard->CableCard Decoder->Test Channel
    No channels show up
    If I go to
    Settings->CableCard->CableCard Decoder->Options->Menu->CA Screen
    I see
    Status:Ready
    Last Error Time:Never
    If I go to
    Settings->CableCard->CableCard Decoder->Options->Menu->CP Info
    I see 'Waiting for CP Auth'
    and I see some of the hex values have changed once (see image)

    According to this it may take some time:
    I am seeing the MKS value change from 360 to know 600
    So maybe I try again tomorrow - its been on for a couple hours now...
    Any other suggestions? Things to try? Something? :(
    Thank you

    It could be a number of things.

    Cablecard may not be properly paired.
    Cablecard may not be provisioned properly.
    and so on and so on.

    What info is on the cable card info screen?

    I do not see the screen where there is a "VAL="
    Its one of the more important cablecard info screens.

    Since my Roamio does not have a Cable card installed, I cannot advice into what menu is available in the cable card screens.

    But the screen with "VAL=?" means its not paired, but with other value, its paired, depending on your cable account.

    Sounds like a pairing issue.

    Your VCTID is 0, which means it's missing.

    The Copy Protection Information -> Auth Status: "Waiting for CP Auth" means exactly that, waiting from authorization from the headend. When properly paired the Auth Status binding should read "CP Auth Received" acknowledging authentication and binding are complete.

    Under the CableCard/Binding Information screen, Cisco/SA used to have "Authorization: Received". This ONLY shows up if the card is properly paired. If the card isn't paired this won't show. However I don't have a current Cisco CC that I can verify this is still accurate. It looked like you were missing photos of the CC/Binding Info screens on Imgur, so this is an educated guess.

    "Val=V/?" only applies to Moto CC's

    Tried it this morning and it changed from 'waiting for auth' to 'auth received'

    Seems it took all night for it to finally work. Thank you for all your help! Good to know for next time!

    Glad it's working. The CC pairing is like booting up Windows 98, you never know if it'll work the first time... :D

    Same experience for me with Bright House/Spectrum. Called in about 2 pm on Monday, talked to 2 different people and both said that the cablecard was paired, but it wasn't working fully (got channels that weren't SDV, as soon as I went to HBO it brought me back to cablecard screen) so they scheduled someone to come out the next day. It was showing waiting for CP auth. Overnight that changed to CP Auth Received. Called and cancelled the tech visit. All working good on Tuesday morning. I had ruled out the tuning adapter being an issue on Monday as it was working fine with another TiVo that I have.
