Volume On Bolt Remote Not Working

    The volume on my Tivo Bolt remote isn't working. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I will appreciate any suggestions. I have a Samsung TV that is probably three years old.

    Have you checked System Information for battery condition? IR functions are the first to go when the batteries get low.

    Thank you for suggesting that. I just looked in System Information and it says RF Remote Battery Level: 80%. I'm not tech savvy at all, but assume that means the bitterly is fine, doesn't it?

    Yes. My next step would be to check the TV's remote. Does TiVo's Mute still work?

    Yes, the mute works, and it will change channels.

    Missing information from your post, did the the Tivo remote previously control your TV volume?
    If it did and mute on the Tivo remote still works, I'd consider you try reprogramming the TV code on the remote with the instructions the Tivo will walk you through.

    The only 4 buttons on a Tivo remote that directly talk to the TV are mute, input, Vol up, and Vol down, none of them have anything to do with the Tivo itself, they are purely the remote to the TV.

    Yes, this remote has always controlled my TV. However, I recently bought a Firestick and used it with the same TV. The Firestick remote controlled the TV when I was watching something through it. I now have the Firestick on my other TV. I am not sure I had tried to control the volume since removing the Firestick.

    How do I reprogram the TV code? I know you said Tivo will walk me through it, but I don't know how to start it. Thank you very much.
