Ep 1 - great great great. Very stong.
My absolute favorite show.
The Fitbit stuff was awesome.
Also felt like the dialog was faster. Very sharp.
I can't wait to see what comes of the documentary that Catherine is making. You just know that's going to totally blow up in their faces.
For those that didn't know, the original creator and showrunner for the first four seasons left the show so S05E01 was the first episode with the new showrunner and I thought he did a great job. Alan Sepinwall did a very interesting interview with him last week that gives some good insight into the process of creating the show. It's a good read if you're a fan of the show.
I was aware of the showrunner change, and was looking for differences.
Not only does the show have the same feel, it's as sharp as ever. The writing last night was as good as any episode we've had.
Welcome back VEEP!
This show does have great writing and acting. It almost feels like I'm watching a documentary at times.
It's also very insightful about how some of the seemingly most insignificant choices can become political fodder.
Paraphrasing as I have already deleted the ep-but when Selena says, "No way am I going to be veep to that Dick-Van-Dyke-looking-motherf***ker"---OMG! I just about lost it!
Agreed about the fitbit stuff-"I like to count my steps in my head" BA HA HA!
So funny last night.
My favorite line was - "Master Cleanse? Sounds like the Nazi domestic policy"
My favorite may be when she says something very non-PC, then happens to notice her daughter in the room, "Catherine, get out. Now."
And it happens over and over and over. That's gonna be one hell of a tape some day.
It's gotten to the point where every time someone says something awful, I start scanning the background of the scene to see where Catherine is. I can't wait for that "documentary" to get released.
2nd favorite was Selina saying "So he f**ked me, and then he f**ked me, and now he's f**king me?"
It's going to be fantastic.
He changes his mind more than a child molester at Disneyland!
...trying to figure out how old Sue is...good luck!
I hope that turns into a running gag with Kent trying to figure out how old she is all season.
A line that few can pull off.
I had to chuckle when Selina started talking about going off the reservation...
Who would have thought that watching a woman break down at her mother's funeral could be so hilarious?
Almost as funny as a funeral for a clown.
The chemistry between Marjorie and Catherine is amazing.
It's funny that the whole staff has the same, endearing nickname for the President.
And that the President is the only one who could figure that out without having to ask everybody...
