    Hi,

I am considering upgrading from the Series 3 I have now to a TiVo premiere. If I do that, do I have to get the cable company (Comcast for me) to come out and set it up with cable cards or can I just plug the cards I have from the Series 3 into the Premiere?

    Thanks!!

You should not require a visit however you will likely need to call and have them record the new host IDs so that the cards will recognize the host.

If you have 2 S-Cards in the S3 you can NOT put those in the 1 slot M-Card only TP. You need the M-Card for the 2 tuners.

As far as Comcast and truck rolls... west of the Mississippi not usually..... east of the Mississippi usually.

I called Comcast ahead of time, and they confirmed that a truck roll would be required...no ifs, ands, or buts.
