Seems I only use my (lifetime sub) Tivo-HD for recording NFL games nowadays.
Any problems if I simply unplug it from cable line and AC power till mid August?

FWIW- we pay about $0.25 per Kwh here for electricity.

    Shouldn't be any problems.

I unplugged my lifetime series 3 for several years w/o any problems.

That's a heck of a price for a kwh (bad)! I can understand the desire to shut it down just from a kwh perspective. At current rate it'll be down for more than 5 mos. anyway with the lockout.

    Yeah, that's NY for you!
I literally don't use it except for the NFL, so it's 100% wasteful to keep it powered up for almost 1/2 a year for no purpose.

    Thanks for the replies!

Are you currently running any non-lifetimed TiVos on a Multi-Set-Discount?

I've read somewhere that if you get an MSD because of owning a lifetimed unit, it has to call in at least every month or so to prove that it still works (if it quits working the lifetime sub expires).

    Saratoga,...
Wish I had those "low" NY rates. I'm paying a marginal rate of $.40 in Northern California.
