The last attempt the system did to connect for the daily connection shows as failed when configuring. When I try to force it I receive the error N18. My internet and network ares fine and the connecting has not been a problem for the two months I have had Tivo. Was just curious if anyone else is seeing this and if perhaps it is the Tivo service itself.

    Thank You for this feedback.
We are aware there is a current Outage and we are working diligently to get this resolved. I will monitor this thread closely and when I learn of a fix I will be sure to post that information here.
Thank You everyone for your patience.

Went to install new Bolt yesterday and had the same problem. I assumed it was my network so I did all the usual troubleshooting, then noticed I was having the same error (Failed while configuring) on the existing Premiere, too. Called this morning and the tech said he's had about about 10 such calls since yesterday. Before my call was over, enough calls had come in that this had been escalated to a known problem/outage on the Tivo server side.

Hope they fix it soon, can't set up my Bolt without service.

I have 2 Series3 HD and their Netflix have stopped working too... I get a blank list when I go into netflix. Started happening the same time the updates started failing.

I am a TIVO customer in the S.F. Bay Area and I have 5 Tivo Premieres all doing the same thing.
    (2) are setup via Wireless-N
    (1) is setup via Wireless-G
    (2) are setup via ethernet CAT5

    Rebooted modem
    Rebooted router
    Rebooted all Tivos

...still, none of them connect to the Tivo service and give a N17 error and crap out on the "Connecting" stage..

I called Tivo, they acknowledged the problem and their reps have been getting calls all day on this. They are trying to pin this down.

I am serviced by Comcast and this so far has been the common thread with the calls in to Tivo so I have been told.

...a call that I made to Comcast was less than fruitful and a complete waste of time.

    * Interesting *
I have a Tivo Series 3 and was successful in connecting to the service using Dial-Up. However, Wireless or Eithernet did not work either.

Tivo needs to work on this one and figure it out since this is more widespread and not just a single user issue!

I did a network sniff of the traffic from my tivo.(I am network Eng by day)

    Here are my Technical findings
    1) My Tivos' are connecting to 208.73.181.200 port 443
    2) Send some packets
    3) Connects again to 208.73.181.200 port 443
    4) Send some packets
    5) finally it gives up and displays the connections failure (N17 or N18)

so from my point of view, 208.73.181.200 has bad mojo on it.

You know that kind of technical engineering talk just confuses the rest of us.

I am getting the same thing: Error N18, failed while configuring. My last successful connect was Tue 12/29 12:26 pm on one of my units. I also have Comcast cable. I hope Comcast didn't decide that too many of us are using Tivo's and they are trying to force us to use their equipment by blocking the ports or something to the Tivo server. I just recently upgraded my series 3's to 2 Roamio Pro's and 4 mini's and all of them have stopped connecting when they were connecting fine up until 2 days ago.

My Tivos' had their last successful connections on Tue 12/29 too.

I spied on the network traffic between my Tivo and the Tivo servers and it appears nothing is being blocked by Comcast. In non-tech terms, my tivo send messages to the Tivo servers and it get messages back from them.

As much as I would like to blame Comcast, I don't really see it.
But it still could be a regional thing... is everyone on the west coast like me?

But.... Considering its been failing for 2 days now and now its New Years so the top people are probably off... I don't think we will see it fixed too soon.

Same problems here. Three boxes all suddenly failed with N18 errors. Last successful update 12/30. Comcast ISP. Rebooted everthing - same problem.

Hopefully they fix it before 1/10/16, that is when my guide runs out of info.

We're not seeing this issue here. Our last connections this morning were successful on our Roamio Pro and S3 OLEDs (Comcast in VA).

    West coast only issue?
