I read in one of Alan Sepinwall's reviews that he is convinced that many of the scenes have been edited together in a somewhat random order chronologically. The more I watch the show, the more I agree with this theory. The season definitely feels very disjointed at times.

It does. Probably intentionally. Wasn't it the giant/fireman that asked Cooper, "is is future or is it past?" I think they are playing with our perceptions of time.

Hell of an episode (#15) tonight. Ed and Norma! Log Lady! Phillip Jeffries as a giant teapot! That creepy creepy gas station! Green Fist Boy (who should've been cast as Iron Fist instead of Finn Jones)! Audrey Horne!

And that was indeed Alicia Witt reprising her Season 1 role as Gersten. (Alicia's very first screen role was in David Lynch's Dune, playing Kyle MacLachlan's sister.) She was in Episode 11, but I didn't recognize her right away.

Something is weird with Audrey. That's 3 straight episodes of her arguing with Charlie about going out to find Billy, and they never leave.

It was kind of jolting to see the dying Catherine Coulson give the Log Lady's dying speech...apparently, those were the first scenes they shot, and she died within days.

Who was Gersten? Was that Donna's younger sister?

Yes, she's the youngest Hayward sister.

OMG THAT was Alicia Witt in the original?
When that scene started all I could think was OMG that woman is on everything!

I think after struggling mid-way through, I am finding my way into this thing.

And yes, I agree the Catherine Coulson phone call was difficult and yet at the same time, I was so happy she got to do this. I would imagine it filled her last days with incredible joy.

So we have Doc Hayward, James, and even Gersten in the new season, and yet no Donna. ;)

Is everybody else hoping that Dougie sticking his fork into the electric socket will finally jolt him back into normal Cooper?

    Cooper!

Great to have him back. It suddenly felt more like Twin Peaks when the Cooper persona was unleashed.

And I knew there was something screwy with Audrey. I was surprised when she actually made it to the Roadhouse, but then they played Audrey's Dance...trippy. Seemed to at least be a dream. I wonder where she really is.

Yep. Great to have Coop back! Too bad we can only enjoy him for two more episodes. :(

That scene in front of Dougie's house sure did feel like something straight out of a Tarantino movie. And considering the fact that both Tim Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh were in it, you would almost have to think it was an homage to him.

I enjoyed this episode ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!

I wonder if Lynch and Frost will let Cooper ride off into the sunset with Janey-E and Sonny Jim?

Mr. C isn't going to like it when he finds out Tulpa Diane failed to kill the FBI agents.

Remind me to never ever block somebody's driveway and be a jerk about it.

I can't believe we're at the end already!

This summer has been such a treat every single Sunday. I will treasure every episode as an extra gift us fans never ever thought we'd get and I'll always remember watching The Return in awe every Sunday evening this summer.

What a great ride it's been! Bring on the finale!

I gave up after pilot. Too avant-garde for me. Doesn't help that i never saw original.

I watched the original and setup a season pass. I had about 8 episodes in the can and decided to watch the double hour pilot. I gave up. I think I have changed a lot. There has been so much interesting stuff on TV lately that this doesn't work for me anymore.
