I have Cablevision on Long Island and recently moved. I was told by the installer that at my new address, tuning adapters were no longer required to receive the HD HBO channels. On my Tivo HD he installed a single M card and I got everything, no problem. On my Tivo Series 3, he installed two S cards, and there I get HBO HD but do not get several of the secondary HBO HD channels (801, 802, 805, 806). Instead, I get a message, "channel not available." This has been a problem from day 1.

I spoke with a representative today who told me that I may need a tuning adapter for the Series 3 even though I don't need one for the Tivo HD. I'm willing to try, but this did not make intuitive sense to me. Am I missing something?

    Thanks!

TA's are not unit specific, meaning if you needed them, you'd need them on all of your Tivos. They screwed up the cable card pairing in the S3. You need to have them send another 'hit' to the cards.

And I thought Charter reps were idiots.
