    Dear Friends,

I've had a serious problem with TS transfers for the past few years and am only attacking it now.

For some reason, select TS transfers - totally randomly - will not play in Windows Media Player. Others will. It's about a 30% failure rate.

The ones that don't play just hang in Windows Media Player with the icon in the bottom-left of WMV left spinning.

I have installed K Lite Mega pack. I have tried transferring with PYtivo & Tivo Desktop. I have tried different computers. Even different hard drives. No success.

I can't imagine what causes this, and I have no idea how to resolve it. I guess I could try to decode the recordings and convert to MPEG, but I would like to find a native .TIVO solution. (Plus, the decoding process often results in quality loss.)

I am concerned, because I have dozens and dozens of such failed TS recordings.

    Can you offer any suggestions?

Thank you so much for your advice!
