Why on earth isn't there any discussion about this show here? I just caught up to current (episode five) and while it's been slow at times, it's really pretty compelling and the acting is first rate. When did Matthew McConaughey go from being a goofy guy known for rom-coms and playing bongos in the nude to such a powerful dramatic actor?

Thanks - not sure how I missed it! Guess I would not make a very good detective.

Season 3 starts 1/13/19. I thought the first season was great, second season not so much.

First two episodes were really good, IMO. Story line is interesting, has a twist or two and keeps one engaged. Much better so far than the last season. I didn't watch season 1.

I agree, watched them both tonight and they were really well done. I'm really looking forward to this season.

I could not figure out where I'd seen the actor playing the kids' father (Scoot McNairy--fantastic name!)... finally I realized he was in Godless. I didn't recognize him at all but his voice is very distinctive.

I believe he was also in the TV series Halt and Catch Fire that was a a couple of years ago on AMC.

Scoot was also in (briefly) Fargo season 3. Almost unrecognizable. He was also in Aftermath. It's on Prime and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a man who lost his wife and daughter in a plane crash. Pretty good movie. Albeit a little depressing.

Totally this. I couldn't even hang for all of S2 and quit in the middle, but S1 was really good. Have only watched the first episode of this new season so far (will view E2 after I'm off the computer so I can pay attention) and it looks promising.

Only two episodes in but S3 seems much closer to like S1 than S2. That's definitely a good thing, although I did watch all of S2 and didn't think it was the worst thing ever.

Yeah, Season 2 had some very strong points (Rachel McAdams being high among them), and some very weak points. I thought in the end the weak points won, fairly convincingly, but it was still worth watching.

It's like a lot of shows I watch (I'm thinking of Fargo this way as well). If you compare to the run of the mill crime drama, S2 was pretty good. When you compare to S1, it just wasn't as good. I'm liking S3 so far.

I’m enjoying Season 3, but found we needed subtitles to get all of what Wayne says. That dude mumbles.

Agreed. I fell asleep during episode 2 since I couldn't understand everything. Turning on the CC for episode 3 really helped.
