    Land O...

    Hi ALL,

No thread yet so I went ahead and started it! WOW a great episode! Only one left!!!

I thought a lot of good stuff happened in this episode but the thing that stands out is when Lafayette is going to sleep and he gets nice and confortable under his blanket. I knew something was going to happen but when it turned out to be Marnie floating in the air above him I got a genuine chill going down my back!!! REAL CREEPY!!!!! And then she occupies his body!

I know some people are not too crazy about this season, but I thought it has been very good and will be sorry when it ends!!

Obviously my Happy Dance upon seeing Marnie's death had no effect on the plot.

I was wondering what they were going to do to make this not the season finale.

    Shoulda seen it coming. Didn't.

I've been expecting to see the fairies back, but not so little and so late. What's up with them? Next season's Big Deal, perhaps?

I do wish, however, that Sookie would stop being the Supreme Goddess of Power only by accident and at the whim of the writers, and a typical damsel in distress tied to the railroad tracks the rest of the time. She needs to step up and kick some ass.

Their cunning plan is clearly to create another crazy Bellefleur, possibly with accelerated aging and fairy powers. :D

Seriously, the protection vow seemed important. I guess the fairies will go on the offensive and somehow Andy's protection vow is part of their plan.

But how can it be part of the plan if the meeting in the woods seemed accidental (the Fairy thought he was a vampire)?

Just when I was wondering how come LaFayette had nothing to do with Marnie's death and what all the big buildup about his abilities was all about...didn't see that coming at all!

Is Jesus a fairy? if not, what is he?

I guess they needed a human to make a protection vow. They saw Bellefleur, thought he was human, appeared to him, got startled because he seemed vampire, then figured out he was human and continued with the plan.

Alternatively, the part about thinking he was a vampire could have been a lie. Maybe just an excuse to knock him out and do something to him while he was unconscious.

Bill and Eric both being okay to kill themselves to save Sookie, and allow the witch to still wage war against the vampires was stupid.
Rob H is right, quit treating Sookie like a damsel in distress, she obviously has the tools needed to protect herself and it's time she starts using them.

It's been a while since I read the books, but she doesn't have any power whatsoever in them, does she? She's always the damsel in distress (well, maybe not where Debbie Pelt is concerned, but otherwise...)

Don't know about the Fairies next season, but a comment made by a True Blood actor :

Denis O'Hare who plays the vampire Russell Edgington said his character will be coming back next season. If true, I sure it's not the only story line that will be going on next season.

I just loved Lafayette's slight expression change when Marnie settled into his body!

Except she's not, not really. It will just be Lafayette playing the role of Marnie. And he did a pretty good job of playing the dead slave girl, so it should be fun.

The Marnie actress didn't impress me, although I'm not sure if it was the acting or the direction. But the accent kept sliding around, whether that was because she couldn't hold the accent or they were trying to hide the reveal that it was Marnie in the driver's seat. But if we see any more of her, it will probably be just momentarily as a ghost (and there's only one episode left anyway).

I agree with how Sookie is being written but wonder about Bill/Eric sacrificing themselves.
Just last week she told them that the thought of them killing each other was what made her powers manifest at the convention hall. I thought maybe they were intentionally trying to induce that again although I may be giving the writers too much credit there.
But they had weapons loaded merely for mortals, right?
So what if they shot each other.

Alcide finally abjured Debbie but it was tossed into that scene like an afterthought. I thought it significant enough to be further explained.

Too many great lines this week, mostly delivered by Pam and Jason- the gash in a sundress line was perfect.

Andy getting fairy fingered was very random and I assume is setting something up for next season, otherwise wtf.

And Eric and the heart was awesome!

note to self: telling a vampire "over my dead body" is NEVER a good idea :p

thanks for the reminder: what was this abjure thing? it seemed a lot more than "I think we should see other people"!

I had to look up the word 'abjured,' I have never heard that before, great word.

The gash line made me laugh.

And for Eric and the Heart, it was funny when I think everyone in the room hated the hippy. Marnie could barely stand him, but he was her only ally. And the others in the room already disliked him.

I got the feeling that Bill and Eric were never going to off themselves. Bill gave the slightest smirk when he saw Sookie's reaction as he aimed the weapon at Eric.

My guess is that they were hoping to get Sookie up to the point where she does her Hadouken on Marnie, but the plan was ruined by a badly-timed RPG.
