To Be Announced on guide for many channels and terrible customer service

    Use TiVo Online. Don't login. Just hit Guide. Enter your zipcode or one close. Enter your provider. Check for missing channels. Yes, TiVo's support sucks.

    I didn't have a chance to thoroughly go through the channels, but at first glace, it appears as though most of them are working, now. I did find at least one that was reporting the wrong programming, and have notified Tivo of this.

    I've always reported guide issues here: Report a Lineup Issue and they usually get resolved very fast and you don't need to talk to anyone. However they never get to the root cause of the issue so the same problems keep coming back. It's an endless cycle.....

    I went this way as well as calling support. We had a local channel "move" on the 15th. Luckily I never watch the channel and it took me 10 days or so to notice the channel with guide data was gone and the new channel had no data (both being 23.1).

    After a couple of days I received a message... channel lineup has changed. I still have two of the same channels (frequency 9 and 17) and neither have guide data. They said they deleted 23.x and added 23.x... but clearly they haven't moved the guide data to the new frequency and for some reason the old frequency is still available.

    Typically I don't expect much help via support however I think this is one area where the customer is helpless and it should be much more of a priority. Not long ago one of the channels I do watch swapped frequencies and it was handled in the same day... in that case job well done.

    I've used that link MANY times and for we who are OTA the forms don't allow detailing symptoms or specifics so the people who read the report are either confused, incompetent, simply don't care, lack the knowledge to understand the complaint, or are SO overwhelmed and understaffed that many problems are simply never resolved.

    I've been waiting 6 weeks for a guide problem to be resolved that TiVo caused and has acknowledged as a BUG.
    Must be an self-induced bug cause the guide had been working fine for quite a while.

    Comcast annually leads the US as the company with the worst customer support.
    Lucky for TiVo they don't have a large enough customer count to be included in that survey.

    I have had similar experiences since Rovi took over. Out PBS affiliate is populated except for kids. Kids is 'to be announced'. Just like others, a lot of my channels are TBA since the Big Move.
