I am moving across the country so my TiVo will be without power for a period of time.

How many hours, while without a power source, can the TiVo Series 3 hold the recordings that are still on it before it is all erased?

The recordings are on the hard drive and power is not required to maintain them.

Although your recordings are safe, after you plug in the unit, verify it can call Tivo. And is successful.

I have plugged 2 units in after 3 months off. They got S03 download errors for a few days. If you call Tivo, the first thing they will say is you need a new tivo. But S03 means some downloaded data is bad.

If you get in that situation and try guided setup for your new location, it is possible they will get stuck at Guided setup, never being able to recover

Don't forget to pack the remote, but take the batteries out and put them in a plastic bag first.
