So my home theater equipment is not visible and I use a Harmony 890 to control everything. This pretty much cancels out the pretty remote and pretty front OLED the series 3 has over the TivoHD.

What about the the better eSATA connectivity? I admit I am clueless about this and it appears this is the only advantage a series 3 would have over a TivoHD unless I am missing something else.

Without cracking open the case (not a big deal, but some prefer not to) the only expansion drive you can plug into the TivoHD is the officially supported 500GB WD MyDVR expander.

The S3 does not have that limitation, if you haven't upgraded the internal drive, you can put a wide variety of eSata drives on it, reboot, and it will accept them, this also means you can use a 1TB external on it if you so wish.

Huge plus? no, but one that might make a difference for folks.
