    Hello All:

I have an interesting issue and admittedly I don't know whether it is a TiVo, HDMI cable or A/V Processor issue but here goes:

Often times, when I change a channel on the TiVo, as soon as the screen changes, the audio will become garbled, almost as if you are playing an LP on too slow a speed on a turntable. It solves every time by hitting pause and then play. I'd love to figure out why it does this but has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks,
    John

    Setup:
    TiVo Roamio Pro
    Cary C12 pre/pro
    Comcast Cable

Try setting a single Resolution on the Tivo, such as 1080p, and unchecking the others.

Settings & Messages -> Settings -> Video -> Video Output Format

And if you are getting sound only from your TV,

Settings & Messages -> Settings -> Audio -> Dolby Audio -> PCM Only

Whenever you change channels on the Tivo and the resolution changes, the TV has to change the resolution to match and that can cause wierd things to happen, such as blinking, wierd sound behaviors.

Don't forget to keep your TV's firmware up-to-date, too.

Is it more like a burst of static? I haven't heard of what you describe but I do know the recent update this summer addressed the burst of audio static so it might be something related.

I would as a long shot, try changing hdmi cables.

Are you running the audio out from your TV or using a AV receiver?

So I do have it on the "only 1080p" setting and it still happens. Just to be clear, the sound travels from Tivo to Cary to speakers. The TV is only in the video loop. Basically, the sound is something like this (RIP Robin): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuk8AOjGURE. Right around the 30 second mark.
