    Hi,

Well despite replacing the HDD my Tivo (which had started rebooting randomly in addition to picture stuttering) the Tivo rebooted itself again today.

So working on the premise that the only things that normally go wrong with Tivos are the HDD's and the PSU's I'm now looking for a PSU to replace my possibly failing one.

Does anyone have a spare one knocking about that they no longer want/need?

Or does anyone know of a way that I can check the one in the Tivo? Or check a log to confirm thatit is the PSU at fault?

BTW, temp is usually aroung 40 degrees normal, according to the status page.

    Thanks

This problem is also sometimes cured by turning up the power output from the blue pot on the PSU a little with a screwdriver. But for heavens sake make sure you have disconnected the Tivo from the mains, let it discharge for a few hours and use a plastic handled screwdriver if you are going to try doing this.

Thanks for the offer but I don't get to the wirral that often...and if I did borrow it I wouldn't know when I'd be able to return it.

    Thanks again.

Has anyone else got one? or info about pete77 suggestion?

Thanks for the links  I remember them being around at £5 and the £20 on ebay is very high, hence my request...

Thanks Hunty, but the logistics of just borrowing and returning would be a problem...however, if you are saying that I can have it (your post leaves me unclear) then I thank you for your offer and I will watch my work schedule and contact you the next time I am passing.

If your offer was to borrow and return then again, I thank you for your kind offer :)

Hmmm both those links actually seem to point to TivoHeaven. Odd when they are the most expensive supplier at £34 unless you are buying something else at the same time (in which case the charge is reduced to £29). Are you perhaps a Tivoheaven sales agent and on commission or something.;):p

However www.tivocentral.co.uk/accessories.php charge £25 including delivery for a power supply and www.tivoland.com/spare_parts.html charge £23.99 including delivery.

No conspiracy Pete - just a cut & paste error. Links now updated.

Not at all, just trying to help out the OP in his search for a new PSU.

Pete's sense of humour is at times so dry, it's a wonder he hasn't spontaneously combusted before now ;)
