How is expecting something you paid for to work as advertised being over-simplistic? I refuse to accept some new normal that says "Well life is complicated these days, and everyone has their problems, so we shouldn't hold them accountable for anything."

I have a subscription to record the Daily Show on Comedy Central at 11:00. It was not on the now playing list so I went to live TV and found the time slot and recorded it. The reason it didn't record automatically was that TiVo listed it as Comedy Central Programming, Blacklisted, R or something like that. I recorded it and downloaded it via kmttg.

    The meta data was:
    title : Comedy Central Programming
    seriesTitle : Comedy Central Programming
description : Comedy Central Programming. Copyright Rovi, Inc.
    time : 2016-12-06T04:00:00Z
    isEpisode : false
    iso_duration : PT31M1S
    originalAirDate : 2014-01-03T00:00:00Z
    isEpisodic : false
    showingBits : 8812
    displayMajorNumber : 50
    callsign : COMEDY-E
    programId : SH0343551373-0343551374

Since the information is all wrong it doesn't group with the rest of the Daily Shows on my TiVo.

    It was working last week.

Cartoon Network is showing TBA again, not that it matters to me as no one watches it here unless nephews are visiting. GetTv programming is screwed as usual. Perry Como Christmas specials are all labeled the same so they don't all record as different specials. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is showing the movie info instead of the tv series info. The Merv Griffin show hasn't had episode specific info since the switch to Rovi.

The entire reason I got TiVo for my mom was the accurate listings, this crappy data now has me back to having to manage everything.

Almost ready to go back to the dtvpal dvrs and psip for listings. At least it's accurate.

Update: So I finally saw a change due to my lineup change request. They did add the Canadian station across the border I was hoping for ... as well as every other station in all of Manitoba. Not to rest on their laurels - they then proceeded to also add in a group of low-power translator stations about 130 miles to the east near the Canadian border of Minnesota.

Oh - you wacky folk at Rovi. Stuck it to me by factoring in the one channel needed while at the same time giving me about 20 more that also have to be removed because they are not in my area. You're such kidders ... :)

Of further interest is that my TiVo listings for my zipcode no longer match what is available on TVGuide or TV.com. Putting in my zip code at TVGuide, for example, doesn't show any new entries under the 'Antenna' section -- but now shows an additional OTA section for Pembina under the cable section of TVGuide. Looking at those - it appears the new OTA section (under cable) removes stations about 100-150 miles to the south -- but then added all stations about 100-150 miles to the north. Stations 150 miles to the west were retained, and stations approx 150 miles to the east were added.

But looking at the stations in the channel list on the TiVo - it appears to be a hybrid of 2 listings zipcodes. The old one that I requested to be corrected and the new one that has now been inserted. They're both there. These are not reflected with the same zip codes on TV.com or TV Guide. This isn't a 'between markets' scenario. This is simply taking a 300 mile by 300 mile block and slapping every station in that range into the channel list.

Since (again) I can't receive the vast majority of what is now populating my now rather large list of channels (in a very barren OTA region) - I can only assume that (unlike Gracenote) they can't add stations available on an individual basis - or remove unavailable either. I assume it is an all-or-nothing addition via defined grid patterns. It's the only thing I can think of that fits this scenario.

Or maybe that's not how it's done - and it's just more wacky guide ticket resolutions.

Nobody knows that forum exists because it's all the way at the bottom, and they aren't even called season passes anymore so new Tivo owners may not know what it's for. I suggested moving it towards the top of the list and renaming it, but was shot down by moderators even though many people still don't know that forum exists and we need it a lot more than we used to.

And why all are the posts now in italics, regardless of whether or not we selected to use italics?

Reading the thread you started about this, I don't see mods shooting down the idea. Did this happen outside of the thread?

Move "Season Pass Alerts" forum towards top of forum list and rename it

Season Pass Alerts are the only item in my TV Talk Forum. Easy to spot.

It's really annoying having to force a connection nightly to make sure I get the last minute changes. The Daily Show has been particularly bad this week, with them breaking it overnight and fixing it mid-day. My box tends to make connections in the early morning so I have to force connections in the evening to get the correct guide data.

Okay, I have a 1P for Great Performances on PBS, episodes have recorded since Rovi takeover, but now Sunday night's listed episode will not show up in my TDL. I suspect there will be name change to The Hollow Crown before it airs, but I don't know. And it's got that crazy "Bookmark in My Shows" option now.... ;-)

Currently Disney XD's guide data is one day off. By that I mean Friday is showing Saturday's line up, Saturday is showing Sunday's line up and so on and so forth. I noticed this when I noticed my OnePass for Star Wars Rebels started recording tonight and it airs tomorrow night. I then checked the next few days and saw everything was 24 hours off.

There are so many programs in my TDL for today and the next week that are there because they have only generic show info, and worse, there are programs missing from my TDL because they have disappeared from the schedule, with the preceding program expanded to fill the gap; a peculiarity of Rovi that I'm getting tired of--they can't stand to have a missing gap in the schedule, they'll just fill it up with a half-hour show suddenly expanded to 2.5 hours. And it's always wrong.

And beyond this coming week--for several channels there is nothing listed for next Saturday and Sunday, but listings resume on the following Monday....

I decided to call TiVo to complain even though I used the lineup report to submit the problem already simply because 3 days this past week I needed to force a connections the last second to get proper guide. The Disney XD issue, which up until yesterday had the correct guide data, was simply the final straw.

I complained to the person that TiVo needs to be proactive when right now they are being reactive. If the guide data for an entire channel shifts by 24 hours, that should put up a whole bunch of red flags and trigger an automatic audit of that channel.

It's not TiVo's customers' job to check the guide data every day to make sure TiVo hasn't messed it up. That's what TiVo is being paid to do.

It's no wonder TiVo is losing their guide data customers, Comcast being the latest to abandon them. Though Rovi suing (and losing to) Comcast (and Netflix and Amazon) probably didn't help either.

Okay, wait, I complained about the coming week's schedule through the TiVo lineup page, and I got the usual generic response followed by the near-instantaneous customer satisfaction survey, with no indication that anything had been done, and I did not yet see anything, so, business as usual, I thought.

But checking just now--it's all fixed, except for one program tonight. I'm genuinely surprised.

But, yeah, I shouldn't have to be constantly feeding them info....

I bet you didn't know that the Rovi/TiVo guide was maintained by crowdsourcing :)

Just for the sake of documentation, I feel compelled to advise them (assuming they are listening, which I do NOT assume)) that the report I made about one channel that has no guide data at all was exactly two weeks ago.

My Tivos connect successfully every day, so there is no breakdown on my end. This channel has had no guide info for months now.

Just today I got an acknowledgement of the ticket and assurance that it will be fixed ASAP, usually within 3-5 days, blah blah freaking blah. Fortunately, this isn't a channel I need badly and there is an SD version that has guide data, so I'm just using this as a test to see if or when they will actually fix it. Since they didn't fix any of the other ones I reported, before I sent them to Margret, I'm not expecting anything, but I'm just curious, at this point, as to whether anything is actually being done about all these guide problems.

I have had 28 channels that were in he guide as East feed and being on the west coast I get the west feed. This has been going on for well over a month with online complaints, emails to Margret and chat sessions. The only "progress" thus far was the deletion of the channels altogether. I can go to settings, channels and can check them and get them back in the guide, but of course no program info so no ability to set a recording for the channel other than manual.

Yeh the resolution of my missing channel 516 is to re-run guided setup :(
Hell you could delete 516 & 505, and add 505 back without action on my part, but I need to re-run guided setup for 516.
Hell no, this Rovi guide data SUX!

Good luck with that - in the post-Rovi world if you're not doing daily checks you're going to miss stuff.

Yeah, it's sad. But Rovi management obviously doesn't care, they're just pocketing the Tivo service money. My guess is that the former Tivo mgmt DOES care but they're beating heads against walls.
