    Definitely not a provider issue.

Why were all the channels correctly under 100 correctly identified as HD for all the years before the guide switch, and the instant of the guide switch, all were then identified as SD even though they are HD?

I find it unlikely that the provider happened to update the channel map at the exact instant Tivo swapped guide providers. I'm not saying it is impossible, just astronomically unlikely. The only conclusion is that Rovi is providing the incorrect data, and Tivo is using guide data to identify resolution instead of the actual data from the transport stream.

Something changed the moment of the guide switch as the "Press D" banner appeared for the first time, and all the HD channels were no longer identified as HD.

I have an STB from the provider and all appropriate channels under 100 are correctly labelled and mapped as HD. So Tivo is definitely not using the provider mapping, because the channels would be labelled HD.

Back to Tivo though... under the old guide, channels under 100 had the letters HD as part of the channel call sign. For example, last month channel 45 was labelled TNT HD in the Tivo guide, and now it is labelled TNT-E. Those channel names and associated resolutions are coming from the guide provider, not the cable company.

If I go to TV.com and look at the lineups for my area, the associated cable listings from Rovi have all the channels under 100 listed as SD, which not-so-shockingly matches the info on my Tivo.

It's not a horrible inconvenience, I wouldn't even care except it has been correct for years, and now it is wrong.

I'm sure now that I don't understand what problem is that you are having, and that I have misinterpreted your description of the issue. Could you please explain more clearly what it is? Perhaps with examples of actual channels and what you expect to see on those channels versus what you do see, and what troubles you about it?

This was fixed as of yesterday. Took 2 or 3 weeks after submitting the official guide data error report online.

I have to say that most of the issues I had early on have been resolved.

The biggest thing now is a bunch of kids shows that show up in TV Series folder instead of Kids folder. This includes:
    • The Amazing World of Gumball
    • Pokémon: XYZ
    • Spongebob Squarepants
    • Star Wars Rebels

Also, there are a number of Streaming Movies in the Not Currently Available folder that are absolutely available in Vudu:
    • Alien 3 (1992)
    • Alien Resurrection (1997)
    • Amadeus (1984)
    • Blade Runner (1982)
    • The Lion King (1994)
    • The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
    • Sin City (2005)
    • Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)
    • Trainwreck (2015)

For me, the biggest thing left is that several of my channels have guide info that doesn't match up with the time zone of the actual programming.

One oddity - as to the 'VICE' channel - My Premiere has programming that is correct both for the SD version and the HD version of the channel. My Bolt, where of course I have OPs for shows on this channel, STILL has the programming incorrect on the HD version yet it is correct on the SD version. HD version thinks the programming is West Coast, yet the actual programming continues to be East coast.

Still a number of other channels that have the wrong feed. But at least both of the ones I'm using right now ARE getting service connections each day and I'm no longer having that N11 problem on the Premiere.

Currently the only way to get items to be moved out of the "No Currently Available" folder is to reboot the box.

Ever since this switch to the Rovi guide data, my guide has been completely jacked. I live in a suburb of Columbus, OH and have Time Warner Cable. Both my Bolt and Roamio will only let me select the Cleveland TWC lineup. When I run guided set-up, there is no option for Columbus cable listed. As you can imagine, this completely messes up all of my recordings and defeats the purpose of having a DVR. I've tried changing the ZIP code to one in the center of downtown Columbus and am still only receiving the option to select a Cleveland lineup.

I'm not sure what TiVo has done but it has created a mess for me.

    Sorry

My issue is a minor cosmetic one, nothing really compared to the issues going on with OTA channel guide data being totally incorrect, etc.

The only thing that changed on my end is the Tivo on screen display. All channels under 100 still tune as 1080i and 720p as they always have.

Before the guide switchover happened, everything below 100 was correctly labelled HD and did not have the Press D banner.

After the guide switch, everything is the same now except the guide flags all channels under 100 as SD and offers the Press D to tune to HD banner, even though an HD channel is already tuned.

It is only noticeable on the rare occasion I have live TV on, it doesn't affect recordings of course.

I use the channels under 100 since it is easier to say NBC is channel 3 instead of 1104 or whatever random # it is placed on near the end of the guide, before all the music choice channels (speaking of the music choice channels, the new guide flags them all as HD, where those used to be flagged as SD before... they are indeed SD).

A really simple fix would be to identify SD or HD based on channel resolution, not guide data.

For example, if I go to NBC on channel 3 the onscreen popup says 1080i in the info box, but still has the Press D to Watch in HD banner even though I am already watching in HD (and the Tivo HD logo is missing of course). NBC on 1104 says 1080i, the channel call sign includes HD, and it has the Tivo HD logo in the popup info box.

So like I said, it is really just a minor cosmetic issue - I would rather not see Press D to watch in HD when I am already watching in HD.

So you have no SD version of NBC?

Maybe TiVo is now assuming that on your system, like some others nowadays, channels under 100 are all SD.

Try unchecking the higher number version of the channel in the channel list. That might make the "D" go away.

Correct, I have no SD version of NBC nor SD any-other-channel (well, there might be 1 or 2 SD public access channel or something around channel 90 that I removed).

Neither my Tivo nor cable co provided STB can tune to an SD version of an HD channel.

I'm not actually sure there are SD channels in the data stream anymore... even the cheap digital adapters use the HD channels from what I understand.

It really is a relatively minor thing, it is just that Tivo always used to know the channels under 100 were HD on my cable system.

Thank you for the suggestion, I had tried that. I went into Tivo channel setup and removed the corresponding HD channels over 100... they are gone from the guide but the press D banner remains on channels under 100... and pressing D still works the same way - it tunes to the higher numbered channel that I removed.

It may be that your cable system DID get rid of all SD channels that have an HD counterpart.

The main reason most cable systems don't do that is the expense of replacing all the SD-only cable boxes with an HD cable box (even if the customer still has an SD TV).

The box needs to accept the HD format and convert it to SD (letterbox) for output to the SD TV. Most of the legacy SD boxes used by SD TVs cannot do this conversion, so they would need to be replaced.

Rather than the time consuming process of changing zipcodes with Guided Setup, try using tv.com. It should be the same, and while the site sucks, they get Rovi data. So does tvguide.com. If you have a local billing office, try that one. A nice person got TiVo to add my headend to the list of suppliers. Tell TiVo: https://www.tivo.com/lineup.html

The five movies I highlighted are available for streaming through Vudu. I currently have them in my streaming list. You have to do a search for each title and go through the multiple offerings for the title to find the one the has the Vudu icon.
The only one I have listed as currently not available is Fast and Furious 6. All the available listings in search say not available.

From what I understand, my provider does not offer SD boxes anymore.

You can get: HD STB, HD DVRs, cable card, or a cheap digital adapter which is HD enabled.

    Hey Folks (again),

So I submitted my lineup errors (took 2 forms) for the issues from the changeover, Its been 2 weeks and not a peep or a fix.

    I am in 40342, Time Warner Cable/Spectrum

    The following are the incorrectness

710 - HD WKYT - Actually CWKYT HD - "To Be Announced" - Guess I am missing the premiers of the super hero shows this week - Thank god for on demand services

761 - HD HALL - Hallmark Movie Channel HD - I dont really care about this one, but its "To Be Announced" either way

766 - HD SCIE - Science Channel HD - "To Be Announced" The reason I have this package, my favorite channel... 2 weeks without EPG (even though I was gone last week is too much)

767 - HD NATI - National Geographic HD - "To Be Announced" Another of my frequently watched channels

796 - HD SEC - SEC Network HD - "To Be Announced"

798 - HD TRU - Tru TV HD - "To Be Announced"

    Help?

Yeah, well, there were a few lineup problems for my cable package, actually not even channels I care about, but I submitted the changes back on 9/14 just the same.
However, today, I got a nasty surprise. They made some updates, but in the process, deleted the bulk of the lineup, channels 402-485 which are, you know, basically all of the non-premium HD channels the vast majority of customers like myself record from. Unbelievable. Actually, I see, they marked the SD channels down in 2-85 to be the HD channels.

So, they went from having my lineup about 99% accurate to 5% accurate in one fell swoop.

I had submitted tickets on lineup changes on the 5th, 11th and 25th and sent a mail to Margret on the 29th and the most critical changes were fixed yesterday (our local Fox channels had been switched to CBS guide data in the last week!).
