TechNovice, your guide data will come back to your TiVo. Since we are basically taking out the old and replacing it with the new, it will take some time for it to download. The initial message that you will see is the To Be Announce on all of your channels. As it starts to load on your TiVo box, the titles will begin to display. Please make sure to leave the TiVo box plugged in while it is downloading this information.

Since the Rovi conversion this morning the live guide takes at least 10 seconds to open the program data and even longer to scroll down the channels. The grid guide is fine. Interestingly I have a roamio pro which works fine and a second premiere elite which also works fine after the Rovi conversion. I hope this is just temporary as it makes the use of the live guide unusable on this premiere elite xl4. Any advice would be appreciated. Already rebooted , connected to the TiVo service and reran guided setup. Thanks

Thanks for your suggestion. It seems to have worked. Yes, these are all manually set single recordings. I went to the grid guide for each recording, pressed Info then Recording Options. The existing programs were listed as "Title not available", then when I went to Modify Recording the correct title was shown, but it was like I was setting a new recording from scratch. None of the previously set options like Keep Until or Stop Recording were there, so I updated them all.

For all but one of my scheduled recordings this worked and overwrote the empty titles in the To Do List. For the other recording, the new grid guide data had split the program into a pre-show and then the main show. So I set two new recordings for each part, then had to delete the extra empty title from the To Do List. I'm not sure if the network actually changed the schedule or if this was a difference between the old and new guide data.

See more details in my reply above. I connected to the Tivo Service a few times since last night and more recently this afternoon. Now my main grid guide is showing the programs, but the To Do List had empty titles and "Title not available" was shown for some previously set recordings in the grid guide.

I have gone through and re-scheduled all the empty To Do List recordings and also changed my One Passes to "New & Repeats" just in case.

Sarah, no response or acknowledgment of the issue with sports not having the original air date? This breaks a lot of 1Ps and ARWLs and everyone has been seeing this issue so far.

It's a major bug that needs to be fixed ASAP.

Is there any reason that the update on a Roamio Pro would change the "Cable Provider" under "System information"? I can't remember exactly what the text was before, but it was something like "Comcast Snohomish County". Now it's "Comcast King County Standard Cable *". The channels look mostly right, but I haven't really tried to go through and methodically verify them. It looks like it also kept my favorite channels correctly. So far, it's just the cable provider that looks wrong.

I'm torn between going though the channel setup again (which I don't want to do) to fix it and waiting to see if it fixes itself.

If you are experiencing an issue where the Movies folder is empty but the movies show up under “All” section, please Private message me your TSN so we can look into this issue. Thank You!

oscarfish, Yes during the upgrade you may see a name change in the Cable Provider. As this process completes any lables that do not match will be automatically corrected. However should your channels not match please let us know so we can verify what name you should have listed.

    Thank You!

I received a message back from TiVo stating:
"There is no standard for season and episode numbers on talk shows." and that this would not be fixed.

Please push back on this response, a OnePass can be specifically set-up to Start at a specific Season, so the Season does indeed matter. Talk shows do indeed have a specific Season, and should be represented as such.

I could also see a potential issue with MSO OnDemand Launchpoints not working due to the discrepancies in the Season/Episode numbers.

I feel somewhat lucky in that my upgrade went fairly smoothly, but with the following problems.
    • Added a bunch of channels to my channel list which needed to be unchecked.
    • Some Wishlists needed to be modified because of different descriptions. i.e. Baseball game description: (Twins vs Royals) or (Minnesota vs Kansas City).
    • Wishlists needed to change the recording option from ‘New’ to ‘New or Repeats’ for matches to be found. Sports Date problem.
    • 4 Season passes were reordered.
    • All video providers became checked and need to be unchecked.
    • Getting multiple recordings for some of the shows which have multiple daily showings instead of just the first recording. Duplicate recording check not working (Sports/Games).
My biggest concerns are with the Wishlists problems.

The fact that it is now impossible to record sports is a huge problem.

    1) I can no longer use a OnePass or ARWL for sports. If I set it to record New, it ignores the first live airing. If I set it to New & Repeats, it records every airing. So recording a daily MLB Baseball game of my favorite team ends up taking up over 10 hours of recording time every single day (RSNs regularly air repeats 2 times or more per day). And this problem is with every sport, not just MLB Baseball.

    2) Many other sports are using different series ids for the same title (for example "Little League World Series". This means for instance, you can't have a OnePass for a sport because they aren't all using the same series id. For the Little League World Series, it appears 7 times in search because each airing is considered a new series. It is completely borked like many other sports.

    3) Also, the formatting of sports titles/descriptions breaks pretty much any existing ARWL. For instance a NFL Football game is listed like this now:

    NFL Football "Patriots at Carolina"
    Description: New England at Panthers

It should be formatted like Gracenote so that it is not redundant and doesn't break everybody's Wishlist.

NFL Football "New England Patriots at Carolina Panthers"
Description: "New England Patriots at Carolina Panthers"

MLB Baseball has the same flaw. If you wanted the upgrade to go smooth, you shouldn't break Wishlists that have worked for over 10 years because of some weird formatting of sports team names.

Part of the general problem that movies aren't being recognized as movies. Filter the program guide by movies and very few show up. Movies that are recorded don't show up in the Movies category of My Shows.

The thing that I'm most angry about with this update is that I previously spent hours deleting channels that were either duplicates (SD, when HD is available), or channels I don't care to ever watch -- on multiple Tivos -- and they have all been added back again.

That's infuriating. For what possible benefit? At least it's Saturday and I have the time to spend hours again on removing the channels I don't want from multiple Tivos.

This time I will shoot a video of the channels I keep -- afterward -- so I won't need to go through this time consuming process again.

Can't wait for repeats of "60 Minutes" and "SNL" to be recorded as "new" episodes still. That was annoying enough. I hope that I'm wrong about that. But based on past experiences with "updates/improvements", I'm not holding my breath.

My box updated to the new data without ever having given me the update message.

One thing I've noticed is that searching for and trying to play movies from Netflix results in Netflix saying they don't exist. Searching through Netflix works.

Edit: Forced a connection and searching for Netflix shows works correctly now.

I checked today and my Tivo has no guide data. It connected and resulted in an unresolved error. I have since rebooted and have connected to the Tivo service to try and obtain guide data. It is currently at 2% loading. I will post once it is complete whether I have guide data or not.

Same thing happened to me. Took two times to download. First time failed and second time took almost 2 hours.

First connection gets the new lineup. The second downloads the data.
