I have a Tivo Premier and a Roamio OTA and I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm experiencing the same guide issues on both. (Reboot, channel scan, forced guide download do not resolve.)

    1) The ION Station, WINPDT 16-1, 16-2. 16-3. 16-4, 16-5 and 16-6 shows up multiple times in the channel list. The correct call letters and channel numbers are associated with Frequency 26 - as well as the program guide info. But that's wrong. The station actually broadcasts on Frequency 38. If I add both sets of channels to my guide, I get the correct program info on channels that do not work, and the channels associated with Freq 38, that do work, say "No Program Information."

    2) Even though I'm in Pittsburgh, I can get WTOV 9-1(NBC), 9-2(Fox) and 9-3(ME-TV) from Stuebenville, OH and WRTF 7-1(CBS), 7-2(Fox), 7-3(ABC) and 7-4 (Escape) from Wheeling, WV. Those channels previously had program info in the guide - now none of them do.

Should I call Tivo about this, or is posting it here enough?

On my channel FSNOH2HD (Fox Sports Ohio) it is impossible to create a properly functioning onePass that records only the first (live) showing of a Cincy Reds game. You always also get the first repeat showing that is aired a few hours later.

Sounds as though Rovi, in their relentless quest to provide "more accurate" data, has not assigned the same programId to the live showing and the reruns.

I want to repeat this as often as I can. I am very impressed. I posted a list of issues here on the forum and sent them to Sarah in PM as well as did what I could with them on the form on the TiVo website. Every issue I reported here has been fixed today.

My lineup is not perfect because there were three things I missed and submitted separately. I am sure they will get fixed, too.

Don't anyone think that Tivo/Rovi aren't caring. That was an impressive fix in just a couple of days. On one channel, the Tivo guide is more accurate than Fios now (Fios keeps telling me that programs are in HD on my SD Longhorn channel.)

The reason why it is not recording every new episode of "Washington Journal" is because Rovi considers every episode of this show to be the same episode (every airing has the same episodeID). This is not an uncommon problem with Rovi when every unique episode has the same description.

I agree with this. All I did was use the lineup form on TiVo's website over the weekend and when I checked TV.com today the changes I submitted were done today. When my TiVo's connect to the service tomorrow morning I will see the changes. There is a couple of more issues I see but I will keep submitting changes to TiVo until it is fixed.
Go to this website to see the current lineup your TiVo is using.
    http://www.tv.com/listings/
I have been checking TVGuide .com and the changes are not registering there anymore. In vact my cable system is now missing from that guide when I input my zipcode.

Ironcially both of these websites are owned by CBSInteractive.

It looks like TiVo has taken control of the Gemstar database and is making changes to it to make it work with the way TiVo uses the data. Gemstar data was designed to be used with Gemstar Guides so this is the reason that WMC users had a lot of trouble. I was hoping that TiVo would incorporate Gemstar's TVGOS interface in place of the old TiVo guide as that UI was for far easier to use and navigate. TiVo could have eliminated the need for TiVo Central as this could have been incorporated into the action bar at the top of Gemstar's TVGOS guide.
You could just move left or right on the action bar right in the guide to get to the same things in TiVo Central. There would be a lot of less button pushes. The way TiVo is setup I am going to end up with arthritis in my hand from pushing to many buttons to see basic things.

One of the things that TVGOS guides had was when you hit the info button a box would expand right in the listings and all the data you see in the TiVo now would be in that box. If you selected a larger box in the general settings a second push of the info button would make the box larger and you will see the times and programming for the next 12 to 24 hours on that channel. In order to see that on the TiVo you need to switch to the TiVo Live guide. Also TVGOS guides were all in HD going back as far as 2004. You also got a master channel list downloaded to the guide for the DMA you live in. If a channel was missing in the guide all you had to do was go through the channel editor and find the channel, give it a channel assignment and then turn it on and you will have listings when the guide called in for an update. It called in for a guide update four times a day.
Also for OTA users you would get the channel lineup for the broadcast channels in your DMA and all the surrounding DMA'S. This way if you could receive broadcast channels from another DMA they would be available in the channel editor. If I remember correctly there was a little over 700 channels that was in my channel editor.
The current OTA problems is probably from TiVo mucking up the channel lineups for each DMA. The OTA lineups were very straight forward up until recently as it appears that it is TiVo that is making them a mess. When I checked TVGuide .com in July I had one selection for OTA and that was Wilkes Barre as that is where the broadcast stations are mainly located at. Now when I looked today it has Pottsville Pa as my selection but Pottsville gets some its OTA feeds from the Philadelphia DMA which is impossible to get where I live.
When Gemstar ran this database I had Wilkes Barre, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and Altoona DMA broadcast channels to select from. Now it is only the channels that TiVo thinks I get in my area.

TiVo would have been better suited to make a guide and menu change instead of trying to custom tailor the Gemstar guide data to fit their guide.
I refer to Rovi as Gemstar as Rovi was a name that they came up with when Macrovision purchased Gemstar. Macrovision was a copy protection company before they purchased Gemstar. Gemstar was a guide data and guide interface company. Gemstar was in the guide data business dating back into the 1950s as it started with the TVGuide magazine. It was in the mid 1990's that they developed the first EPG (electronic program guide) which was embedded in high end RCA televisions. I owned 5 TVs (3 RCAs and 2 Pioneer Kuros) and the Sony DHG that had TVGOS. I used that guide for over 15 years before Rovi pulled the plug on it in March of 2013.

I have a Premiere - today, all my channels were empty on my guide. I'm updating (or whatever Tivo calls it). Is anyone else having issues? On Sunday, I rec'd a message that some of my local channels were changing (none that I had as favorites).

I'm currently in a "connecting" process (that has taken 40 minutes so far)

Thanks, that makes sense (as an explanation -- not as a justification for the behavior).

Since you did so well on that puzzle, can you handle my Red's game issue described in post #245 above?

Yes, this is documented here in other threads. The reason is because most sports programs have their own unique programID, so TiVo thinks they are all separate programs even the repeats. Kind of the opposite of your other problem.

Thanks. That explains it -- but it stinks and should be fixed. The problem only started with the Rovi "upgrade".

I need to report a followup guide issue.

Jackson, MS WLBT Channel 3.3 Escape got episode information to start showing on 9/3. However, it reverted back to generic information starting on 9/12. Tivo folks, please check on this when you can.

    Thanks.

Just noticed this on FiOS (lineup Freehold, NJ 07728) channel 186 (Justice Central SD). The guide is off by one hour. For example, programs that are actually on at 1pm are showing in the guide as being on at 2pm instead.

You can compare it to zap2it which has the correct schedule.

How odd. I just checked mine and all the changes I originally asked for are on TV guide as well as tivo.

Just wanted to follow up to say that my guide data now seems correct for category "Movies". At least there are many more listed now, so it is getting itself sorted out.

Support said my Romio box hasn't completed the software update yet and that it may take until the end of September. I hope that goes smoother than the guide update.

Star Trek The Menagerie, Part 1 BBCAHD 9/9 is showing as new, first aired 8/16/16

Posted here for entertainment. Not going to report it, since there probably isn't time for tivo to correct it.

An example of accurate guide data.

It's taken two days to get the guide restored after my system was corrupted by the "improved" update.. Things were fine, then the upgrade... really. Now the guide appears to be intact but it is so slow it is useless. If this is what I can expect I guess my TiVo days are over. I've been a loyal TiVo user since day one. I love the product but will not endure this type of performance or level of competence.

I'd really like to know the "real" reason they messed up a perfectly good system....

In the two years we have been a Tivo customer I have never had a problem or question (hence no posts). The new guide appears to have changed that.

Our zip code is 33872, which is a fringe area for both Tampa, FL and Fort Myers, FL. Until a week ago we were able to pick up about half our stations from each city based on the Tivo channel scan on our Roamio OTA. Even though the channel scan still shows stations from both cities, the new guide channel scan (part of the "Repeat Guided Setup" procedure) excludes all of the channels from Fort Myers, which generally have much stronger signal strength.

A week ago I contacted Tivo support and the response was to "Connect to the Tivo service now" and "Repeat Guided Setup". This hasn't worked any day this week that I tried, and I've not received a reply from Tivo Support when I informed them of the results.

It appears the guide wants us to use only those local channels that would be available to us if we had cable or satellite. All of the blocked channels still appear on the guide as "To be announced" and are viewable, but cannot be recorded.

I sure hope this gets resolved soon. I'm not going to complain any more, but that doesn't mean I'm happy with the service.

    Jim

Their online support page and opening support tickets online is a joke. I never got a response in there, and I don't think they monitor or look at online tickets.

Wow, this is a cluster. My guide "update" happened on Tuesday and all but 4 channels still show "to be announced". I went through all the steps in the faq (force connection, guided setup, etc.) but no fix. Chatted with support and he said the lineup for my cable company is still loading on their end. WTF?

Because 10+ reboots and 20+ connections in, I would have to think that I'm not getting the 'normal' ones.
