The Dual tuner Premiere debuted in 2009. How many other companies would give you the time of day for support issues on an 8 year old device? I think your expectations are unrealistic.

Another approach might be to find a cheap used premiere for sale on craigslist or online that you can verify is functional and then try the used drive in your premiere and try your drives in the used premiere.

I bought this unit directly from TiVo in late 2012 and it wasnt put into service until early 2013. It has not even reached 5 years and I don't think that is past EOL for support.. As long as TiVo is pushing software updates and stuff to the boxes I think that support should be extended to all products they are still messing around with!

It is the correct image.. It came from here and directly from the person who made the DvrBars program/software.

Imaging an old drive that I had laying around results in the same errors after getting the Cable Card repaired with the cable company so this has to mean something is wrong with the TiVo other than the hard drive??

My guess is that the new software update messed something up.. The box was still recording fine a few weeks before the updates were being pushed and I noticed the drive was becoming more and more unreliable so that is when I unhooked it and ordered a new one... When getting the new drive up and running I noticed that is when my box received and installed the update (During Guided Setup reboots) on the new drive. The only factor that is different in all of the equations is the 20.7.2 update and one supervisor that I spoke to on the phone said there were alot of isolated incidents with this new update.

My dual tuner premiere survived the update. Your issue could be hardware related. For my lifetime Tivos, I look for a cheap model that doesn't have service to use as a test bed for issues like you are experienceing. I think you could find a dual tuner premiere without service for $40-$50. You could then add the second tivo to your account and verify that it's not deleting the recordings. You have 30 day trial period to cancel for a full refund. Once you verify the second tivo is funcintioning, you can put the hard drive from the first tivo in the second tivo, clear and delete and try to reproduce the errror again. Lastly you would put the drive from the second tivo in the first tivo, clear and delete and try to reproduce the error. The results from these tests would give you a definitive answer.

I read in another thread that if the OnePass is set to "Keep Until Space Needed," it will delete the recordings because the Tivo is thinking ahead and making space for the next 2 weeks (this is a theory btw and not fact).

In any case, I just made a OnePass (at 1:30pm PST) to record with "Keep Until I Delete" and "Keep All Recordings" and it is recording automatically now. I will see the rest of the week and see if any of my original OnePasses will record with these new options. I will keep you all updated.

So a quick update. Some show works but some shows still won't. I even delete and recreate the OnePass with the same exact settings as the show that does record and it still gets "deleted" because of "space needed." The 3 trouble shows I have are Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and America's Got Talent.

I'm going to put the original 1TB drive back in and see if it makes a difference.

Which is the code to do a full reset? And I mean a complete reset like the box just came off the factory floor?

Also, does it matter what drive I use? I used a WD BLUE instead of a GREEN drive.

The only way to reset the software is to hook the drive up to a PC and reimage the drive with mfs tools or jmfs using an image file.

So a little testing today. I replaced the HDD with the original one. Upon start, it said the guide data was out of date and needed to update. Took about 2 hours stuck at the loading step. I setup 2 OnePass for Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel and they both recorded on schedule. I will let this run for another day and see if it records. Then I'll know it's something with the new drive.

No I don't mean the drive itself. I can just delete any partition on there and the Tivo would reformat it again.

I mean the Tivo itself with all its settings and updates. I want to factory reset the whole Tivo, not just the drive. I will try the "Reset" option in the menus.

Clear & Delete Everything does exactly what it says. In your case I would try Clear Program Info & To Do List before going to that extreme. It wipes the guide data and TDL, then rebuilds them from scratch without affecting your existing recordings, One Passes, CableCARD pairing, etc.

Only the Bolt and Roamio will reformat a drive. For the Premiere, the only way to reset the software is to hook the drive up to a PC and reimage the drive with mfs tools or jmfs using an image file. All of the persistent settings are reset by reimaging the drive using an image file.

Ok so the 2 shows I had problems with recorded tonight without incident. This makes be believe that it could be the drive or the guide data that was on the drive. I actually have a 3TB Green drive here that I'm gonna put in and try. I will remove all the partitions and let the Tivo configure it. I'll report back.

Sorry that I hijacked this thread. I came here from a Roamio thread because mine is having a similar problem (OnePass shows gets deleted automatically because of space needed).

Ok, so I delete the partition on the WD 3TB Green drive, put it in the Tivo Roamio, and it went through the Guided Setup from scratch. Funny thing is, when I used the original 1TB drive AND the 3TB Blue drive, it would give me a few error S03 during the "Preparing to load..." phase. With the Green drive, every went through without a hitch. I reformatted the 3TB Blue to use with my PC and it's working perfectly.

In any case, with the Green drive, the OnePass recordings are working perfectly! So this leads me to believe that it could have been the drive, and/or the downloaded software that was on the drive that caused the problem. I'm done with this since it's very time consuming. If you're having this problem, I'd suggest to do a complete reset and go through the Guided Setup. If it still fails, then replace the drive, preferably with a WD Green drive.
