I setup a simple pptp VPN on my windows home server v1. Now i can connect to it but when i run the iPad app on it the Tivo ipad app does not see the Tivo's. I was hoping to have control remotely with VPN.

    Any ideas? Anyone try this?

It won't work for me either. I haven't looked into it yet, but my guess is that the TiVo app is using broadcast packets that are not being routed.

You should check the settings for what the pptp server is doing with broadcast packets.

Most likely it's using multicast packets to see the TiVos (either UPnP or ZeroConf/Bonjour).

Multicast, like broadcast packets, aren't routable. If you can specify your TiVo by name or IP address (I've never used the iPad app so I don't know) then you can try. But if it's discovery only, you'll need a multicast proxy.
