I can see how just looking at the title coupled with the fact* that you don't see that many Tivo TV ads would give you this impression.

*I can't even recall if I've EVER seen a Tivo TV ad (on TV, that is. I have seen "commercials" that were linked to from this forum).

This thread was created to counter the "Tivo STOP the AD's" (sic) thread.

well if you want TiVo to have more ads then complaining about it here wont do any good but buying more TiVo DVRs and subs will get the interest of more advertisers for TiVo and generate more ads

Yeah, that's too bad. I was just navigating around that today. What happened? I'd really like some content there. I also watch some of the Tech TiVocasts looking for reviews on products. I need some downloadable advertising content too!

I would actually like ads every minute during the shows I watch... and there should be products placed within every scene--e.g., of CSI--with flashing TiVo logos superimposed. Press the select button and you get to watch the ad... watch 10 or more during a show and they'll reduce your monthly fee by 25 cents.

Oh, to make it even better, the shows should be interrupted with commercials that last, say 2-3 minutes, and commercial skip should be disabled. We could all enjoy the nostalgia of watching live TV a la 1970s. What fun! :)

+1 Well said... (and I hope you're not just being sarcastic)

I'd rather see ads than to see their service rates go up, and I'm still paying the same service rates that I began paying when I got my first TiVo's over four years ago now; granted, we have to sign up for a 3-year commitment now to get those same rates, but those same rates are still available, and I hope and plan to continue using TiVo for many years to come anyway, well over 3 years.

As far as the FOX discussion, I agree that FOX appears to be the network to cancel new shows the quickest.

However, there are currently four programs on FOX that I watch regularly that are doing well on FOX, and three new series (two this fall, and one for mid-season) that I'm looking forward to, and am hoping they end up being as good as they sound, and am hoping they don't get the ax too quickly if I do end up liking them.

Not actually. I grudgingly bought myself a PS3, for playing with my much younger brother when he comes over. First thing I did? Watched movie trailers...

Ask and ye shall receive. After watching "Motorweek this morning the regular keep/delete this episode dialog gave me a third option to check out the CNet TiVoCast. Interesting, but not totally relevant.

    Maybe...

    No, well possibly...

Why don't we get a commercial channel... A channel with nothing but commercials... You can even back up the video if you miss the 800#...

TiVo: Please don't junk up/cheapen an otherwise beautiful interface with (more) ads.

Actually, I know you were joking, but Time Warner does offer a DVR that does this (or doesn't do this, I guess). The fast forward button is disabled. And all your recorded programs automatically delete themselves after 24 hours. It is free (as in no monthly fee or upfront cost).

As far as Tivo, I could care less about the yellow star ads. They can have as many as they want. It's the ads shown during playback that I don't like.
