Hello, I'm new here and have spent about an hour looking through posts and haven't seen this asked/answered but I apologize in advance if it has.

I have FIOS internet (Portland, Oregon) and can get the FIOS TV (Premiere Package w/HD). I want to get the FIOS HD (and dump Comcast) along with the Tivo HD and the cable cards.

I called VZ and they told me that I could get the cable cards ($2.99 each) when I asked, but they told me that in order for me to get the HD signal, I had to have the VZ set top HD box.

What set up are others out there running? Is anybody out there getting FIOS HDTV with their THD with cable cards and no VZ HD set top box? If so, is there anything special or particular you need to tell either the rep on the phone or the tech at install?

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

The CSR is mistaken. When you order Fios TV, just get 2 cable cards and boxes for any other TV. You do not need the Fios HDDVR box with the Tivo. The Tivo replaces the HD box from Verizon.
