TiVo has a hard time taking my money

    I had almost the exact same problem as you even down to using MBNA Shopsafe but with one exception, I never did take delivery of the S3 from TiVo. I ordered the first day and received the shipping delayed email so, being impatient, I called TiVo and asked to cancel the order and bought another S3 from a retailer. Got the S3 setup and lifetime transferred.

    When UPS showed up later with the TiVo ordered S3, I refused delivery. Never was contacted by TiVo and not charged (except pending status on the account) so I figured everything was fine until recently when I was contacted by Trans World. Now I have no S3 from TiVo and a credit agency demanding payment. As of now I don't know if my calls have this resolved but I'll be damned if I am going pay anything.

    Wow, at least I was able to send a check into TransWorld and get them off my back. I would be sending certified letters to TransWorld ASAFP saying that I never accepted the TiVo and I don't owe them anything.

    My advice? Get the name of EVERY CS REP YOU SPEAK TO! Also ask them to note every call on your account.

    Well, I called TiVo yesterday. I spoke to a CS rep named Garth. Garth said that there was a "payment block" on my account, and that he'd send a message up the chain to get the refund issued. He also said that he'd call me back yesterday. As of this morning, no callback received.

    Well, maybe we've got some progress here.

    I figured I'd give things another try, so I called TiVo this morning. I spoke with a CS rep named Joe ... who I think is one of the people I dealt with earlier with this whole mess. Joe told me that the refund was posted to the credit card last night around 6pm (it doesn't yet show up on the on-line credit card register).

    When I expressed some (polite) skepticism about this information, because I had been told this numerous times before, Joe told me that while the CREDIT to my account was posted back in March, the actual charge was just posted today. He said CS reps who were unfamiliar with how the billing system works may have confused the credit with the posting to the credit card.

    I got a reference number from him, so we'll see what happens.

    Dude, I am not close to blaming you for the mistake that TiVo made.

    What I was responding to was the question of monitoring large expenses on a credit card. I watch these things like a hawk. Probably I am OCD on the subject and it isn't fair for me to knock anyone on it given how I am about it.

    But I do watch my CC statements like its my job. Because sadly in my mind it is.

    I am glad to hear you are making some progress with TiVo. I hope this is resolved for you as promptly (at this point) as it can be.

    If that has been cleared, make sure to tell TIVO to contact Collection agency to remove your reprimand and brings the credit score back up! Also send you a letter from BOTH TiVo and Collect Agency that it has been taken care of. That's what I did with Captial One.

    Well, it's official. The credit for $40.80 posted to the credit card last night! This time, I managed to beat The Man (or at least we're even).

    well it looks like i finally got my issued resolved. got a manager 2 weeks ago and ended up paying them AGAIN with new CC and also got a 50 dollar credit for all the hassles they caused and for me to at least recoup some costs of pulling my credit reports. i just pulled my report and it shows no mention of any collection agencies. score is great too!

    I have a few problems getting things updated in their system. They kept telling me my zip code was wrong. I repeated at least 4 times per CS agent that it was indeed correct. They finally had to escalate the case up to some random dude who took a week to update my email, address and other information.

    It sounds like their customer information database sucks complete butt.
