Tivo Desktop Server Error?

    Switched the first part of my email address to caps and it works again. I had to hit next twice because the first time it still didn't take it, but second time it did. Who knows why, but who cares it works again.

    I had to use all caps for address and domain but it worked.

    I'm getting the same error as everyone else is reporting. I'm running Desktop Plus (2.8.2).

    Probably unrelated, but I've had a couple of errors on my TiVo Roamio and Premiere in the past few days. Both machines reported that there was no more program information and I had to connect to the TiVo service. The message appeared to be a mistake since, in both cases, my network information showed successful connections that very day AND in both cases my program information was good. Not sure what's up with that.

    Over the last few weeks I was getting a popup window with the message:

    TiVo Server Service Process has stopped working.

    Looking in the TiVo Server log: C:\Users\username>\AppData\Local\TiVo Desktop\Logs\TiVoServer.log, I found the following entry:

    Attempts to restart the TiVo Server got the same error. This, of course, blocked me from accessing media on the TiVo from my PC. I saw this thread about entering the email address in all caps (address and domain) had fixed it for some. Well, much to my surprise... IT WORKED! The TiVo Server now starts and all TiVo Desktop functions are working. The log file now shows successful connections.

    This implies that something has changed on the mind.tivo.com website.

    Uppercase trick isn't working for me. I verified my email and password by logging in correctly to Tivo Online on the website, but it doesn't work in Tivo Desktop Plus to link my account.

    I guess I spoke too soon. The authentication is now failing again and I can't find a way to make it work no matter the case of the email address.

    I submitted a support email to TiVo and got this reply:
    Maybe we will get a fix eventually.

    That was a BS answer. The problem is on the servers, not "your device".

    I'm having the same problem, using TiVo Desktop 2.7. I've tried all sorts of combinations of uppercase and lowercase login attempts. I've posted a message to Sarah in the thread that's been posted, but I need one more post (this one) before I can send her a PM with my TSNs.

    One other odd thing I've just noticed - I'm transferring a show from one of my TiVos right now, and the TiVo's blue LED light isn't on like it usually is when I'm transferring shows to/from the device.

    I finally got mine to work. I did so many things I'm pretty sure what finally worked for me was that I tried all the other fixes and they didn't work. After doing that again today, I tried the "normal" way, original email address and password. I kept trying it, waiting a second or two between attempts, and was shocked when it finally worked after roughly 5 and 10 attempts.
    I wasn't aware of this problem until I had to restore my Win7 installation from a backup disk image.
    BTW, an email sent to support 3 days ago didn't get a response.

    For few days last week, TiVo Desktop was able to logon to the servers. Then it stopped working again.

    This problem is still happening to me as of today. It has been going on
    for a while but I didn't look into it until now. Is there a fix coming?

    Still not able to link to account this is ridiculous its obvious something that TiVo support doesn't feel worthy of devoting any time to come up with a solution.

    Thankful for Pytivo I'm still able to push video from my PC to my TiVo its a shame that they can't get this issue with TiVo desktop resolved

    Mine kicks out every once in a while. I just tell it to link the account again and keep hitting "Next" until it finally does. Took me 16 clicks once, but it always eventually takes it again. I have my email typed in the format of: NAMEINCAPS@lowercasedomain.com

    It takes awhile sometimes, but it eventually links for me again. They really do need to fix this...
